very nice looking bronco first off. how do you think the 1/8" rod will hold up? 3/16" will take some hard hits and survive with minimal bracing but being light is now a priority for me. how much weight do think you saved with the smaller rod? the more i look at it the smaller rod does seem to fit the scale...

I mostly used the 1/8" rod for better scale. I think it will hold up quite well. I believe I have plenty of bracing. It's more than I would have done with 3/16". I wish I could find 5/32" rod. I think it would be perfect but the stuff I can find is about $8 a foot and that adds up.

I have a 2.2 Beckworks that is all 1/8". I've been worried it wouldn't hold up but so far so good.

If I used all 3/16" with the same amount of tubing it would have been significantly heavier.

That looks killer Zack Nice job on detailing the hubs. The dove tail reminds me of my old boyer 2.2 Bronco

Hey is the axle housing different on the SCX-10? I just don't see the posts that the servo plate mounts to, or did you just cut them off?

Cases are the same. Since he is using a Hand Bro CMS, you have to cut them off for the axle brace and upper link mount.

Awesome job Zach. Is that interior out of a CGR body?

What he said about the housing^

Thanks! It the interior out of the CGR Blazer. Painted black on both sides with a flat black lacquer coat and some detailing. I tried to give the seats a two tone black look.

Cool - I need to find an interior. Thinking of trying to find a used CGR or Dingo to hack.

The CGR is much more detailed and realistic.

If I build I'm building for myself I can't justify the amount of time that it takes to build them in order to sell. Besides that, if I was to sell something I'd expect it to be perfect and my stuff isn't up to the caliber of the guys that are amazing.

Here's a bunch of pictures from this weekend. I had a blast driving this and it's one of my favorite rigs to drive ever. I'm still not decided whether I'm running this or my Beckworks Toy at Montana but I'll decide soon enough.

It is not nearly as pretty now and has held up well. It took a 10 foot slick rock tumble and is still doing well.

Nice pictures are those 1.9 Rock Lox's. How warm is it out there? It look's like you are scaling in the desert.

Great build! I've been looking for more inspiration and ideas on an early Bronco-based TTC build and this is near the top of my list. And if you had a driver, those pics would be hard to tell from 1:1!

Do you think there's any chance to build a full interior with the trans/motor where they are? That's what I'm seeing as my biggest challenge using a SCX10-based rig.
