Default New guy here!!!

Gonna be picking up a honcho this weekend. Found this site so I figured I would introduce my self.
I'm klutch, I'm a diesel mechanic, and I'm just getting into scalers. I've had a t maxx and a slash (which i still have and dont play with)but I got bored with them. Now I'm gonna try scalers cuz I like the videos u guys posted and my buddy has a honcho and it looks fun!! Any way hopes to be getting advice from all u guys soon!!!

Yea that's why I joined. I'm planning to buy the truck and sink around $500.00 into right away. Then just buy things here and there for it. Any ideas of MUST HAVES?

Theres different must haves for the scx10. Everyone has different views of hop ups for first timmers. i say go out enjoy it get use to it. adjust to it. Theres ALOT of aftermarket support for axial rigs. if it breaks then change that. go look around at other builds and see what people are using and upgrading.

I made my own links. out of brake line tubing and all thread. Remember weight is a must but not to much in the rotation mass (wheels) if ya put to much weight then you'll lose power. IMO

but just have fun with it

Do you know what direction u wanna go with

Ideas and what to get, you'll meet lots of different points of view but heres what I've got on top of stock gear.

Axial 4 link aluminum kit
Junfac drive shafts
G-made shocks
Aluminium skid plates, on axles and centre
1.9 aluminium RC4wd wheels and weighted
1.9 rc4wd mickey thompson baja claw tyres (kinda sit midway between 1.9+2.2)
Aluminium sliders
Suspension adapters so you can play with ride height easily and quickly
Raise the front bumper and draw it back to meet the shell as it gets hung up easily.
Spektrum radio gear DX3C is what I've got 3ch
Novak esc
35T motor
4200mah 2S 30C Lipo giving me over an hour of run time

Heres a couple of my build threads
Bills New Honcho

My Honcho turns into a rubicon unlimited, no going back now

have fun with the rebuild!!

Well i live in south Louisiana so I don't have hills and rocks like most of u. But I will be looking into building a little track/course in my back yard for me and my buddies to play on. But what I'm looking for is more a trail truck than a rock crawler. I want to get good articulation out of it but not so much to where it's not fun or challenging if that makes sense. But basically I wanna be better than my buddies honcho

Sounds stout. I'm not familiar with all the parts and such yet but I will catch on quick. I will surely need help and opinions from u guys with experience.

Well I planned on buying my honcho yesterday but instead I bought a 2001 single cab dually. Guess I'll have to wait till next weekend to buy my honcho!!!!
