Default honcho vs. dingo

What makes a better trail rig ? Does one have more bodies to match the wheelbase ? Does the longer help or hurt the honcho ?

man that's like what's better ford or chevy! they are both great trucks, i prefer the honcho tho. i like the extended wheelbase which does help in climbing. it seems around here that the honcho has more body choices. the 12.5 inch wheelbase seems to be what most manufactures hit when they build bodies. now when you get into hard bodies like ripping a new bright body off, they seem to fit the dingo better.

Well I will tell you from my experience..... either will do because it wont stay stock for long anyways. The Honcho has a longer wheel base which helps on a lot of terrain.

Now for bodies...... there are actually more that fit the Dingo then the Honcho.

Dingo Body 11.3" WB
ProLine Wranger 2 Door JK
ProLine Jeep Cherokee 92'
ProLine Blazer 2 Door
ProLine Comanchee
New Bright JK 2 Door Mudslinger
New Bright Ford/Chevy/Dodge Trucks 1/10 scale

Honcho Body 12.4" WB There are more then these but the only 2 I have actually fit on it without issues.
ProLine 4 Door Unlimited JK
New Bright Unlimited 4 Door JK (WB 13.5")

It all depends on your terrain and driving style. I have one of each, and in some obsticles the honcho is better and some the dingo is better. (mine are actually a hilux and jeep, but you get the point). The shorter wheelbase won't get high centered as easily, and the longer wheelbase won't tip back as easy. So it really depends. In general my honcho wheelbase performs better. I'm mostly into slickrock crawling which is fairly smoot and rolling compaired to crawling through a pile of busted up cement.

with the ability to make your own links, you can change your wheelbase to fit mst bodies in most situations

I'd say the honcho, the longer wheelbase helps, and I've recently done a new bright jeep which meant lengthening the wheel base some more and it really does help.

The Honcho is only available as RTR right? What if we want to bring the Dingo kit to Honcho specs, what needs to be changed?

Lengthen rear links, mover shock towers back, and that's about it. Check your rear driveline to see that they won't over extend and come apart. You might need another combination of the supplied shafts.

I had a Dingo and sold it, I now have 3 Honcho's and a Wraith, love the longer wheelbase. My last project is a Proline 73 Bronco body for a Revo, fits perfect.

I bought the Dingo kit so I could get the XJ body, An I like the stock bumpers on the dingo. I knew if I wanted to change to a longer wheelbase I just have to make longer rear links.

Just get the honcho size links. They are universal.

I prefer a kit because

(1) I want to make sure it's built right
(2) Building provides an important level of appreciation & understanding for maintenance, upgrades, & repairs - you don't get that knowledge with a pre-built machine
