Default Just ordered AX90022

This kit looks like it fulfill all my trail running needs even if left stock. I'm totally stoked. I did have a quick question about motors for if (when) I start to modify. I've read and searched a a lot. Sounds like the most popular motors are in the 35t range. Also sounds like 55t makes the truck painfully slow for trail running. In specific is a 55t to slow if it is run on a 3s? Is it about the same speed as the rtr 27t on 2s with a little more slow speed and torque? This is just in general.

A 55T is going to be slow even with 3S. If you aren't going to use it for crawling, you probably want a 35T or 27T motor. I wanted to do both so I went with a 45 T HH TorqueMaster Expert, BR-XL ESC with an Elite 3S lipo. It can crawl real slow, gets ok trail speed, but can't keep up with straight trail runners.
For me the 55T would be too slow.

I'm running a Losi 21.5T brushless crawler motor with MMP on 3S. I love the combo! nice slow control and great speed when I want it. I have a creeper tuber that I'm running a stock 27t axial can on and that's OK on 2S and close to the Losi brushless on 3S.

For me the honcho isn't a 27t type rig, it is not stable enough at those speeds and rolls easily. 35t gives you that extra edge over a 55 but isn't too fast.

35 will be great

35t seems to be the most popular. I'm sure it is for good reason. I really would like to keep this stock for awhile. Sounds like the axial motor holds up well to punishment. Would you suggest gearing down in the time being? How are the cheap rcwd brushed motors holding up? I could get a few of those to try being they are so cheap.

Nice truck! I love mine. The motor seems ok for the bit of running we have done so far...mod your truck to suit your trails..good luck...what do you think of the glued tires? I am not happy with the glue, but the ripsaw tires are great! Check your motor leads, mine were not fully seated causing some glitching..all good now.

I don't like the glued tires. I wish there they sent them loss with some ca glue as an option. But I understand that would not be rtr. I have some original scx10 wheels that I'd like to use. We'll see if I can get the ripsaws of the rtr wheels.
