| SCX10 electronics setup
I just got a SCX10 Honcho and have been looking through trying to come up with ideas where to put the electronics and battery cause there aren't many options that I can see. Please post up pics of your setups for some ideas. I am sure I am not the only one it will help. I am trying to keep all my weight as low as possible but it seems like something is going to have to go kinda high to make it all fit right. Thanks |

I am running a castle sidewinder sv2 castle bec futaba rx heyok winch controller for a 3racing winch right now it might get changed to a rc4wd winch. I was planning on running electronics in the back but I found out with the honcho bed on it you kinda can't or at least I havnt been able to get them to fit with the bed on it. I was just looking at you setup Eric. Sharp rig. |

there's a few threads about this subject already but.............. what kind of battery are you running?? nimh/nicad, lipo??? i run my nimh battery across the frame right behind the shock hoops where the receiver box would be.. i zip tied the stock batt straps to the chassis and the shock hoops and it holds the batt in place. i like velcro so my ESC and receiver are stuck to the battery plate with velcro where the battery used to be. this setup works for me, battery is easy to get at.. im going to be running lipo on the truck now but im still going to leave my nimh battery in the same spot and use it for my 3racing winch. the lipo battery i will velcro to the front of batt plate where its easy to get at and im taking off the body everytime i wanna swap out batteries. |

This is my current setup. I machined the battery and esc tray out of some Nylon I had leftover from a job. I wanted to mount the battery as low as I could to help the CG but still wanted it protected. The RX is in the stock box in the back. Last edited by dkf; 02-09-2012 at 02:18 PM. |

| Re: SCX10 electronics setup That is basically the way I was planning but with the honcho bed I can't put them there cause the the bed won't go on. I will post a pic later of the mess I am working on right now to try. If it works out I will have to find some delrin sheet to make the mounts out of instead of lexan like I am trying for now.

This is by far the best i could come up with to keep the electronics high and dry. |

This is what I am working on for now to see how it works out. Its got everything sitting higher than I would prefer but so far it seems like it might work. Ignore the wireing mess I am still in the process of mounting everything up to try.

| Re: SCX10 electronics setup That is basically what I am doing except the boxes I found at the shack that were big enough for the electronis wouldn't lay down on the steps and I am trying my pattery across the frame right under where the end of yours is. I will try to get better pics up in a little bit for any suggestions.

i too am running the radio shack hobby boxes, work well...i let my buddy figure out the kinks, then modded mine!! FYI, i found the box to be a bit short for the spectrum reciver, it works but only just! they will fit the axial 2.4 gear with no problem at all. my battery is in the stock location..but there is room to lower it down in the future. hi-jack...Tmaxed can you post a pick of your shock hoops? thanks |

RadioShack boxes. I've done it to both of my rigs with different battery placements. |

| Re: SCX10 electronics setup I'm running a sectioned and water proofed servo box to house my electronics in the back. I've got the battery up front flipped on its side sitting along side the servo. Its the only way it would fit. Its too long to mount 90 degrees to the chassis as the tires rub on it pretty bad. Its still extremely stable. I do have radio shack hobby box, its about the same size as the servo box, but its too tall. Its going to be cut down later. |
