Default 35t on 3s question

I have a 80t spur and 20t pinion with a 20t wraith motor in my honcho running on 2s lipo. I like the speed I'm getting out of it but I wouldnt mind a little more speed with some more crawling torque to. If I switched to a 35t brushed motor and ran 3s lipo would my speed be at least as fast as it is now or would I be slower? Thanks.

If you have the stock axial speed controller it says right on the side that it will only go up to 2s

Yeah I know that, I'm getting a different one. I'm just wondering if the speed would be slower or faster or about the same.

I would imagine it being a little slower but hell of a lot more torque and smoother at slow speeds also depending on your esc

..actually, if the esc is the Axial AE-2, you can install a CC 10A bec, and run 3S...a lot of people are doing that..using 3S is even stated at the Axial website...Axial AE-2 ESC Set-up and Programming

It should be really close, I have a tekin 35t 17/80. if you keep it at 20/80 you will be happy with the wheel speed on 3s.

I believe the stock gearing is 20:87 on the current kit version --> SCX10 4WD Kit w/Dingo body.

I plan on using the Tekin 35T motor w/3S battery packs

I could care less about top speed - should I consider changing the gearing?

Thanks

I think the kit version is 14:87 and the RTR is 20:87.

Of course you could be correct - I haven't received mine yet however, using the link "AX90021 - SCX10 Dingo KIT" from this web page --> LINK the user manual indicates at the top of page 5 a 20T pinion and 87T spur

Yes, both the kit and the RTR have the same spur/pinion combinations. 20/87
