Default SCX10 not used for crawling?

Im buying an SCX10 in the next few days. Now, I live on the east coast of Florida, so there isnt any rocks, just sand, so I wont be using it for crawling as there isnt much to crawl over. I plan on making a tow rig for my Slash out if it... almost a pre-runner type look (full size Ford or Chevy pickup with a roll bar out back and spare tire)

Now I have 2 power options for this, one mild, one wild. The Mild would be an XL5 esc and an older Trinity 27T 22* race motor. Much faster than say a Traxxas Titan 550 due to the 22* timing. These were THE R.O.A.R. approved motor to go with back before brushless.

Wild is a CC 4 pole 5700kv witha CC Sv2 esc.

Both would only be running off NiMH batteries, not lipo, so they arent that insane. I have a variety of pinions to gear up or down too. 15t up to 23t. Will the 5700 be too much for the diffs even though Im not crawling it? Or am I better off running the brushed motor and gearing it higher?
