Default My Honcho build

Ok built this a year or so ago but never take the time to document my progress. So here's my build list with pictures

Honcho Kit with shortened bed (bed matches chassis length)
Hand brothers chassis mounted servo
Tekin 35 turn motor and speed control
Venom 8.4v battery split and rewired to sit on sliders
Traxxas electronics and servos
Summit tranny
Rear 4 link
Emaxx drive shafts
RockLox 1.9
Dingo bumper with spacer to match the body height
Cream cheese container wheel wells
Home made lighting with LEDs from superbrightleds.com

Future plans:
Leaf springs on the rear to be more like a 1:1 taco
11.1 lipo battery
May go to a bobbed highlift body or make a bed for the taco
Add some scale parts

upgrading to a hitec waterproof servo should be on the list too. more torque and metal gears.

I hear ya guys on the servo but it works well for the fun I have in the yard with my son. I don't have any water near by to swamp it in too. I'll upgrade when I round off the plastic gears in the traxxas unit. I had to keep the cost down a bit after I forked over for the summit trans.

It hauls pretty well. Does doughnuts like a champ. I can't wait to throw 11.1 volts at it, might do wheelies.

No summit trans is 2 speed. I can crawler super slow and hit the switch and run fast, do doughnuts, get to the next obstacle faster. YouTube scx10 honcho 2speed and you will see some videos to see the drastic difference in speed between gears

I used one of these:
Honcho/SCX-10 Summit transmission mount.

But if I were to build another one I would definitely use the 2 speed tranny from rc4wd as it is soooo much smaller, keeps the center of gravity way lower, and you don't need to modify axels to fit. https://store.rc4wd.com/AX2-2-Speed-...ho_p_2463.html
