Re: Dual Dingo build thread-My first build thread I just read through your entire thread and wow... Those are some super clean Dingo's. You are a far more patient man than I am for that wiring schematic! These are turning out superb and I can't wait to see how the lights all turn out. Oh, and killer videos! Cheers, Dylan |

Re: Dual Dingo build thread-My first build thread Hahaha, at least you're not afraid to get her dirty! They always look good with a little mud on them! "thumbsup" |
Re: Dual Dingo build thread-My first build thread Started to solder up the fisrt stage of lights. I'll be doing the body lights first. Headlamp, front running lamps and the rear lights. The lights are 5mm, 3.0-3.4 volts. The resistor is 220 ohm metal type. The Ohm's are base on the LED calculator. http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/h...4/DSC02704.jpg http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/h...4/DSC02705.jpg |
Re: Dual Dingo build thread-My first build thread Here's a couple of pics with lights lit up and in the body. http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/h...4/DSC02708.jpg http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/h...4/DSC02710.jpg http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/h...4/DSC02711.jpg |
Re: Dual Dingo build thread-My first build thread Back has been sore, so I took a break from soldering and finished by Dingo movie. Here's the final cut, enjoy. <object width="560" height="315"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/7UZEfZSXojM?version=3&hl=en_US&rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/7UZEfZSXojM?version=3&hl=en_US&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="560" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object> |
Re: Dual Dingo build thread-My first build thread cool:) I like the part where the Dingo's chuggin through the mud! |

Just did more soldering on the lights. I hope to have the body lights in today. |
Re: Dual Dingo build thread-My first build thread Well, I got the front lights wired up and bundled waiting to be installed. I'm working on wiring the switches. I also made a 12" extension for body removal to unplug. I'm using servo extensions for connectors. Center tap of switch will the positive lead from power supply. Negative wire does not need to be attached to the switch at all. Switch just breaks the positive circuit. All negatives will lead back to negative on power supply. http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/h...4/DSC02715.jpg http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/h...4/DSC02713.jpg http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/h...4/DSC02718.jpg http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/h...4/DSC02716.jpg |
Re: Dual Dingo build thread-My first build thread That looks great man! |
Re: Dual Dingo build thread-My first build thread I've got the wiring harness made up and had to cut out two defective LED's. Pre tested as I went through the process. Put two new ones in and then a third one went out. I went back to the LED calculators and doubled checked all. Specs are still right. I figure its cheap overseas lights. Might have to fine better quality. My white LED's are USA and the color ones are "?" who knows. Replaced the burnt light and found a bad wire. Had to replace it and for now they all light up! Very small thin wire is easy to break inside the outer shell. It looked good but had no continuity. |
Re: Dual Dingo build thread-My first build thread Got the lights installed. Still need to tidy up the wires and install the switch. http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/h...4cf534f8c3.jpg http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/h...a1dd7d5264.jpg http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/h...99d31be0b4.jpg The rear lights look all yellow. The top lights are red and the bottom is yellow. http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/h...66f393a0dd.jpg |
Re: Dual Dingo build thread-My first build thread Here's some pics of the inside of body. Thought about shrink wrap the ground wires but I didn't have full lengths of it. This Dingo is the rough work model. Second Dingo I will look into cleaning them up. http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/h...70db32977c.jpg http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/h...8a65dcf233.jpg |
Re: Dual Dingo build thread-My first build thread I started to install the lights in the front bumper and found that with my body mounts in the front get in the way. I found on the second Dingo I'm building the body was to low. I modified the mount so the body was raised. This modification might allow you to raise your bumper like some have been doing. This was first attemp http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/h...4/DSC02427.jpg This was second attemp http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/h...4/c5b59c2e.jpg This is the height adjustment I had to make, about 1/4" http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/h...4/DSC02530.jpg This is the new bracket made of styrene. sorry for quality of pic shot with Ipod http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/h...0F92DD3A14.jpg |
Re: Dual Dingo build thread-My first build thread Here's the final product. Just needs paint. Body fits great and clears the wiring for the lights. http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/h...b9692c67ff.jpg http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/h...7fc692b73b.jpg http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/h...0aa8781cf8.jpg[/IMG] http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/h...3aaa72eaa2.jpg |

Re: Dual Dingo build thread-My first build thread Well ain't that a MOTHER!? think about it............ |
Re: Dual Dingo build thread-My first build thread Got the front bumper lights wired, installed and covered in shrink tube. Haven't applied heat to the tube to shrink yet. I used another servo extension cut in half to make front bumper connection to wire harness. This allow bumper removal to be easy. http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/h...304cdbdb02.jpg http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/h...f883e4cd25.jpg http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/h...ef17544da9.jpg |
