I've tried this approach a few times now and can't get the 4 M3x6mm set screws flush, which causes clearance problems with the diff cover. Any other suggestions?

Also, what hardware did you use on the knuckles and chubs?

And what grease do you use in your builds? Does this photo indicate the amount that you typically apply? The stock ones were thick with the stuff.

Are you tightening down on the set screws pretty hard? If not, you need to be in order to get them flush but I highly recommend having a good quality driver bit so you don't strip the screws. Keep tightening and loosening them and they will eventually seat flush.

The M3 hardware I used on the knuckles are M3x10mm button head screws and on the Chubs M3x10mm cap head screws. Make sure you loctite these screws.

Yeah, I'm using a Wiha driver and giving them a grunt. I'll try again but I think I'm going to take everything down and make sure the axle tubes are fully seated, etc. first.

Thank you!
Did you use the stock "flange pipe" parts in the knuckles?

Yep I have the 3100kv ROC 412, it has great crawlability and wheel speed on 3s lipo.

hey anti, sorry if your having trouble, we may need to put shorter screws in the kit, I've put together around 6 sets and i was able to sink them first try, i did have some concern though ...

do you have a way to grind them down a bit ?

Got it! More grunt did the trick.

Hey, Tom.

I would consider doing something 0.5mm shorter in future kits to avoid customer support issues.

I did try using a small file but it's tough to grab those little buggers and they are pretty hard, don't file easily. I can only imagine how quickly they would disappear in the shop if I tried to grind them - zing, out of the vice grips and into oblivion!

Now to scrounge up some hardware for the knuckles and chubs. Will VP be including M3x10mm button head screws and M3x10mm cap head screws in future kits?

Thanks for the help, everyone!

I'm considering getting another Tekin setup for my Wraith.

I forgot to mention that you have to put your man panties on when torquing down on the set screws.

When I spoke with Jim about the screws missing he said that he fixed the BOM for the SCX10 knuckle & Chubs so future kits have the necessary hardware.

Man panties... yeah. I have a long history of over torquing things - stripped threads, cracked diff covers (1:1), etc. So I tend to be cautious. I got to be in my element on those screws.

LMAO, I'm the same way only I haven't learned to be cautious with the R/C's yet. See below comment for verification.

Man does this Rigid led light bar really finish off the look of the JK. Awesome job VP!

The Poison Spyder JK LED light bar mounts installed. You'll have to ream out a hole in the windshield to install the top mount screw.

I reamed a hole to route the wires through the windshield then down in front of the cage.

Then reamed another hole in the dash board to route the wires under the body.

Those lights look so great on the JK. Great work on the wireing! According to the spec those lights are working on 11.1 volt. Did you connect them directly to the 3s battery or how have you done it?
Regards Rene

Thanks. I spliced into the BEC wires coming off the battery terminals of the Tekin RS ESC, which is getting 3s power.
