In before your video thread get's relocated You certainly have much better video editing skills than I do! Good job I especially like the "slo-mo" stuff: 1:32 Rolling Clouds, 5:18 Wheelie, 7:06 Rock Hill Climb, 12:54 Slab Climb, ect... |

Thanks! believe it or not its edited entirely on an ipad using imovie... The slo mo stuff is actually alot more than it looks. I filmed with a GoPro H2, at 120 FPS for most of the clips, and then used an app called slopro, to put playback rates at 30-60 FPS whichever better suited the shot. I did this in ALOT of the clips, because it makes the Truck look like it carries the weight of a full sized vehicle. I'm glad you liked it. editing the videos has certainly been a learning process, but ipad apps definately make it a ton easier. I had tried a few time lapse shots with gopro native features, but I just couldnt compile the photos into a video fast enough, so for the time lapse clip you saw in my video, i just filmed a 30 minute clip at normal speed (30FPS) and then used the slopro app to speed up the play back over and over till I had it down to 12 seconds. incidentally this takes up alot less space than all the photos needed for a time lapse. | |

Honestly I only used iMovie... On the iPad no less which has far fewer features than the one for Mac. For my opening "credits" I used an app called art studio, and just made a jpeg with a black background and text, then inserted the jpeg into the video like any other picture. I am able to sync specific parts of the video like the jumps etc or clip transitions to the rhythm of the music by selecting the audio tracks first, then painstakingly lining the clips up with the music, however this does leave a lot of my original clips trimmed way down. I also used an app called SloPro that can take a clip and speed it up or slow it down before saving it to a new clip. The modified clips were used judiciously throughout the video. The time-lapse segment, was actually not compiled in the traditional way, as I don't really like how long it takes, so I simply mounted the camera to a 1 hour egg timer to get a panning effect, while recording a 30 minute clip at 30 frames per second. I then used SloPro to speed it up. Then I took the clip and sped it up more - and more still till I had it down to about a 12 second segment. The end result is exactly the same as a traditional time-lapse. The same app can be used to slow down a clip, but you can't slow it down and get smooth playback without recording at a high frame rate. I record most of my clips at 120 FPS which loses a little image quality, but its not terrible. You can then slow it down to about 1/4 speed which still leaves the playback at 30 FPS. Most feature films play at 24 FPS, so 30 is even smoother. Slowing down even normal driving clips leaves the vehicle looking and moving more like its heavier full size counterpart. The overall effect leaves you watching a scale truck that looks and moves just like a full size truck. As for the 20 minute upload, I wasn't able to do it directly from the iPad, so I had to import the video to my PC first. Then I googled how to upload longer videos, and there is a partnership you have to apply for, and I think pay for, however my account already had permissions to upload up to 30 minutes, I do not know how I gained that ability. I don't remember ever paying for anything with youtube. Google it, there's lots of hits telling you about the process. Last edited by tomvaillencourt; 02-05-2013 at 06:50 PM. Also please check out my previous videos of my wraith in action ... While the quality is not as good they are still ok videos. I just was learning how to film and edit as I made more videos, leaving a noticeable increase in quality from one upload to the next. Tomvaillencourt ~ Wraith Crawling videos. Wraith 3 is pretty cool.... Although I hadn't perfected my slo motion yet. Last edited by tomvaillencourt; 02-05-2013 at 07:02 PM. |

Great video! Are those the 100mm kings shocks? If yes, how do you like the performance compared to the stock 90mm?
