| Demo's Toyota Wroncho / Haith build start
Thanks to TheManCave for some quality Wraith axles! I have my Wroncho running and It's awesome! I'm looking at using the Tundra body in a few diffrent options. Full body, front cab and brazed rear truggy or front cab and honcho rear. It all depends what I have time for. Though much of the hard work converting it to a Wronch is done, I'm not close to being finished. I want to see if the rc4wd 2 speed will work with the tight driveshaft issues. I also want to go to 3s with a stronger motor. So far the truck is 12" wide, 12" wheelbase, 18" long not including bumper. So far my upgrades are as follows Overdrive gears up front Clocked the front axles for more camber Raised bumper mount Junfac piggyback shocks coming soon It's a start... |

Update time! So, I decided against the Tundra body for the simple fact that I'd need about $100 more to put into it. I ended up selling it on the classifieds Upgrades: Rc4wd 2 Speed transmission Dx3e 3 channel radio and receiver Junfac shocks hand made battery plate R35 Wraith tires and 8 hole beadlock rims I'm blown away with the amazing performance of the Junfac piggyback shocks! Very adjustable and simple to work on. The large diameter of the shock bodies allow more adjustable flow of oil and the action is so smooth. No leaks whatsoever! I upped the progressiveness when I shot my Narwhal Cam video and the rig only fell over once during shooting which was my crap driving: Demo's Axial SCX10 Wroncho Running Video W/ The Narwhal CAM!! - YouTube I like the fact that the Dx3e is such an inexpensive rx/tx combo and it does everything as advertized well. However, it has an akward fit in my hand my trigger finger isn't as extended as compared to my Ax-3. Between the handle and trigger was 53mm for the dx3e and the Ax-3 was 60mm. I have med-large hands so this is an issue- but I'll deal with it because I'm on a self inposed budget. Another issue is where the shift or third channel button is. You really must crane your thumb to the side of the radio to shift gears, Just annoying again I'll deal! That brings me to the Rc4wd Ax-2 2 speed transmission. This had to be one of the best and easiest upgrades I've made. You literally unscrew 4 tranny screws and install it. I had to shorten my rear drive shaft but that was it. I love the crawlability of the low 5:1 ratio. On 2s it's really fun, but on 3S it's a blast with my Tekin 35t motor. I have to give a big shout out to all the members I've purchased upgrade items from, it's all been from scouring the classified daily. It's saved me a ton of money So far I bought- fully built upgraded wraith axles, junfac shocks, 2speed trans, wraith wheels/tires, Dx3e radio My current plans are to build rock rollers (in the pics), Exo cage to follow the stock lines of the grill. You can see where I cut the front grill off. Maybe a rear cage. I have custom steel upper and lower links coming I still need to move the shock towers back so I can mount the diamond plate tool box. So, what is the deal with that spur gear, I've never see one like it. Is it damaged? This is my Noobness showing through.

Got some time in on my Wroncho build. Currently working on the front grill and front cage. I used the exact front grill of the Stock Honcho for a guide. You can see from the pics that I can still use a stock body or my old cut up one. Next is the headlight area. Some rear tube work and finishing/ painting. I'd like to put a Axial badge right in the middle of the grill, also I'm planning some sort of mesh behind the grill- any Ideas??? |

Here's where I'm at. I just bought another Craigslist buy for a roller and It came with an original Honcho body. I like the color. I don't like the 4 holes in the roof for a former roof rack. But- mocked up, I like the dark grey metallic. Obviously I need to finish any and all Exo cage work. The exo cage will be painted or powder coated. Most likely I'll be making some sort of rear cage when time permits. Here is a link to my build log / blog on youtube Demo's Axial SCX10 Honcho to Wroncho Build Log # 14 Exo Progress Review - YouTube The last 2 pics are of the electonics trays I made |

| Re: Demo's Toyota Wroncho / Haith build start Thanks, I'm adding more to the Exo cage. As it is- if I hit something hard or roll the truck the grill area can get bent. I'll be adding a tube that extend down the side of the truck. I'm considering either making a rear cage or merging this one into the stock cage. I'll probably powdercoat all the metal black or deep red, orange... I also added 4 lights to the front with a home made bracket |

This is perfect! I just bought a Honcho for my wife and she thinks it needs the height, width and tire bulk of the wraith. As soon as I upgrade the axels, wheels and tires on my Poison Spyder, I'll do this to the Honcho. Looks great!!

Junfac's are 93mm. And thanks for the nice comments. Befor the waraith axles I was running Junfac 17mm wheel wideners which makes the width 10.25" and if you add the 8hole axial wheels it adds another 1/2". Much cheaper but the wheel wideners tend to back out- I used threadlocker
