Default Jeep Rubicon JK Diffs

Hi all,

I apologize if it's been asked before but I bought an Axial Jeep Rubicon and I don't use it for rock crawling. I have a trailer I pull and it spends most of its life on sealed ground. What I was wondering is will this damage the diffs as they are locked? I've heard that Wheely King open diffs fit the Axial diffs. Would it be worth swapping them?

Thanks

Mat

I'd keep them locked. Shouldn't hurt them. I've heard of people ruining diffs on carpet, but outside ground I think will be fine. Probably just not blacktop.

The lockers will see WAY more abuse bound up in the rocks that they will cruising around on flat ground. If you want to unlock them you can use gears from an ax10, exo, or wheely king.

You all say "locked diff" like there is one and you can unlock it. Really SCX10 locked differential = no diff.

There is a differential carrier with a locker in it. Pull out the locker and stick in some ax10 diff gears and the differential carrier is unlocked. It's not like it has a spool.

It sounds like put actual differential and it is there))
For me in SCX10 is half axles adaptor. But it does not cancel the fact you can replace it with diff gears.

I would at least unlock the front so it doesn't crow hop really bad. Not that hard to do.

Thank you all. I'm ordering some ax10 gears and shafts now.
