I pulled the trigger, building a second Scx10 with a honcho body, with a rear steel truggy frame, got my Hand Brothers CMS with hard pan mount, and the three link axle truss, that goes with the hard pan kit, so the front is going to be three link, the rear is going to be four linked, going to use a Castle 2900 KV brushless motor, and a Castle AE-3 esc. out of a Exo, it should scoot, pretty good, got a high tension steering servo, got set of wild bore drive shafts, a set of 1.9'' RC4WD Pro 10 rims and new 1.9'' Proline Flatirons, light controllers and light buckets and lights, need receiver box and rear axle trust, and hardware, there is a Ace Hardware locally that sells a better metric fastener selection, than Home Depot or Lowes has, going to look in the Honcho instructions book and see how many and what size screws I need, will take pics as stuff comes, and my progress, as I go on.

here what its going to kinda look like its sitting on my jeep crawler SCX10, its going to fit better with stock sliders, and sitting on the frame not my battery mount, I got extra mounts and the support bars from a Exo kit for the light bar, some where got find for them, I might mount the light bar on the truggie frame or put it on the roof like it is in picture, or if I can find the mounts drop it down to over the windshield like in the last pictures.

I used the pile of parts in the above pictures, and here is what I got so far, need my upper and lower links, rod ends, need a input shaft with thru hole for the front axle, need battery straps, need to mount my radio box, and figure out how mount the honcho cab to the truggie frame but still removable to access battery for changes. and make a box, or buy scale truck bed box, to keep my light controllers dry, going light up the light bar, and four head lights up front, and four brake lights, with separate 1000 mah 2'S lipo, for night bashing.

I have that same light bar for my Honcho...
It's mounted to the roll bar currently...
But I had intentions of mounting it on the windshield pillars.

Problem is... The light bar is not as wide as the windshield pillars.
and don't like that it would need mount to the windshield's surface
or higher up.

So I'm going to cut some plastic tube to space out the ends of the light bar.
Will use longer screws as well.
This should allow for wider mounting possibilities of the light bar...
and hopefully line up with the pillars better.

Another thing I intend to do is...
swap out the roof top support rods...
for rod/link ends that can utilize turnbuckles/thread-all.
This way I will be able to adjust the light bar's angle.

Not sure I would get that angle setting exactly right
when drilling holes in the roof and using the supplied non-adjustable rod/supports.

When the light bar is mounted to the Honcho's roll bar...
angle adjustment is possible.
But mounted forward at the windshield...
the non-adjustable rod/roof supports would offer no angle adjustment.

I prefer options

ok I get you, I traded some stuff and got the light bar, they shaved the down the two mount tabs on the sides, and they put a long set screw with washer to space it wider, I don't know what truck he had it on, the one on the my Rubicon is off of the rear frame of my first SCX10, like it was in the beginning pictures. I had extra mounts and support bars from a Exo kit. but when I had it on the honcho it was aimed down and was adjustable, same with a one on my Jeep Rubicon body, the one going on my second SCX10 the honcho bodied one, I'm going to mount it on the windshield first, then set the support arms, at where they tip the light bar where I want it, then mount them, this is my first one going over the windshield, so I hope it looks good.

OK I bought the right rear body posts, now the body is centered up, had to make new holes in the Jeep hood, I painted the fuel cell, and when I bought the body posts it came with the filler neck plate for the fuel cell, like in the pics, going to detail it before I mount it, then put clear coat over the whole fuel cell, but its been to cold to do it.

And I changed out the input shafts in both axles to the hole thru type, so I can now use the Axial Wild Bore drive shafts with grub screw/pin type retainers. I should get the rest of links and rod ends, so I can make the second one a roller.

I needed a truck box to put my lipo and light controls in, and found this black RCBros scale toolbox, I also like the RC4WD TF2 toolboxes. I will see if my 2's lipo and light controllers will fit in the RCBros box, cause the RC4WD looks a lot taller and a little wider, but might not fit the rack on the truggie frame.

Had to buy some new boots, and I went too Tractor Supply Company, and bought these little truck tool boxes, there right buy the registers, and my 1300 mah 2's lipo fits not sure if I can get my light controllers in there, and I don't want to cut the truggy frame so they fit under window, so I'll use them on my trailers I'm going to build. I 'm hoping the black RcBros truck box I ordered fits under rear window with out cutting the truggy frame.

ok I got my links in the mail, I think it pretty cool, need to mount my esc and receiver box, got make some mounts for them, and order some M3 3.5mm, 30 mm length cap screws, to mount the shocks and lower links to both axles, and my Ace Hardware is out until after Christmas and they only go to 20mm lengths, need 25mm to 30mm length cap screws going to look online.

Got my RC Bros truck bed tool box, its bigger than I realized it was, but I like it and it work nicely for my light controllers, the battery will go on top of 2s lipo for the R/C. and I also raised up the front bumper for even more clearance. And I moved the lights bar behind the bumper loop, I think it looks better behind the bumper, looks kinda like a frog to me.

I made my own third upper front link, and I also made my own curved hard pan bar, It doesn't hit the axle housing like it did, when it was just a straight bar, I also clocked the axles the best I could, the drive shafts spin freely, no binding.

Ok I got the fuel filler plate mounted on the fuel cell on the jeep body, and I used the G6 light bar mounts to drop the light bar down, and I moved the second set rear brake lights inside the roll bar, I think it looks pretty good.

ok I bought some new springs for my Scx10 shocks and O-rings and the plastic spacers that go in between O-rings, and ordered rebuild kits for my Proline Power Strokes for my Scx10 crawler, and hope, I got enough 30 weight oil to do 8 shocks, and I bought some Lucas Red ''N'' Tacky, to seal them instead of slime, that slime stuff is nasty, used to use it in my Honda XR and it was a pain in the XXX to clean out of the rims to replace the tube, might as well throw the tire away too. won't use it in my shocks. so I pulled the dirty oily leaking shocks apart and threw them in Simple Green to soak to loosen the stuff up, I will then use a tooth brush and Q-tips to clean them and get out the sludge that was in them out, bad leaks and lack of maintenance my bad, but its all good, fresh rebuilt shocks that don't leak yeah.

I got bored and I made these, they are not that hard to make, and I had these old Flat Irons mounted up on RC4WD rims for my trailers I going to build. I put some Traxxas 12 mm plastic hubs the widest ones I had, the chain misses the steering knuckle, but not by much, might look at wheelwiders or wider hubs so the chain do not get caught.
