Default building a stock scx10

asking for a friend.. he has some money to play with. this is his first RC. he has a budget of 500 for electronics and a budget of 1200 to build the truck. I thought of a MMP and a tekin roc motor.

So with this kind of a budget what would you do? thanks

if you go with that powerful of a set up you will need to replace basicly the whole drivetrain to handle it...Trans gears, outputs, front and rear axles, axles gears, driveshafts etc....

Doesn't really take much to make a stock scx10 perform in near stock form but its more preference I suppose to what you want despite what it only needs.

basic upgrades and what you need for the power you want is 2 different stories...none of it helps performance and its more of a reliability concern with that much power...my guess is a 3s battery power also correct?

A lot on nice builds on here but you can check out my build if you want more performance enhancements rather than bling items...will all work with the added power you want but youll have the upgrades needed to handle the power...Good luck to your friend with the build.

common upgrades usually recommended
Aluminum c hubs
Aluminum high steer front knuckles
Aluminum lock outs
Aluminum shock hoops
Steel trans gears
Universal front axles
Super high torque servo
MMP BEC
3s battery power
Upgraded shocks
Steel driveshafts
HD trans output shafts
Axial HD axle gears
32 pitch metal spur and pinion gears
panhard kits
2.2 wheels/tires
metal bumpers and sliders
winch set up
ECT....you get the idea...lol

Of all that; maybe the shocks and panhard set up and a decent servo can improve performance...the rest just durability and preference bling items
