I chose the Fxr and 35t. Plan on running on 2 and 3s. Just got it today so can't give and reviews. If I would of chose the wraith over the scx10 I would of went brushless.

Fxr and 35t all the way! When you start to get batteries, its 3s capable and even 4s(with a 25v capacitor)
Then again.. for the same price and maybe even cheaper right now, go with a Holmes combo.

So seems like the 35T is recommended motor. I am thinking about getting the RS Gen 2 so i can have future capabilities of brushless and the BEC on it. It can run a 35T right? the limit is 20 fwd/rev so as long as its higher it can run correct? Thanks again everyone!

I am running the FX-r with a 35t motor combo, its a very good setup for me and gives plenty of wheel speed. I cant say if a RS would be good because my wraith has a RS and a 10.5t its insane DO NOT put that kind power in the scx10 it will destroy it for good. But FX-r/35t is an awesome set up, - axial 4x4 crawler

I agree with the Tekin 35T and FXR combo. I have a Tekin 45T/FXR in my crawler and it is as reliable as they come. Great performance and powerful. The only way I can see there being any upgrade from a Tekin combo is to step up to Holmes Hobbies hand-wound motor.

I would suggest one. You will probably need one and it is easiest to solder the BEC in when you set up the FXR combo. I also have 3 FXR's in my rigs and 2 with the tekin 35T. I've been pretty happy with them, but would consider a holmes combo if I were to buy again.

X2. I couldn't be more satisfied with my FXR/35T. Get the BEC now, even with 1 servo and 1.9 wheel/tires. Planning your wiring now will get you a much cleaner wiring setup, plus less headaches later.
