thought i would give a little update on this rig....

this rig is freaking flawless, seriously when people ask what to upgrade honestly NOTHING is needed this this works well

i do have hitec servo, BEC, aluminum rear lockouts, C-hubs and knuckles and RC4WD 1.9 beadlock wheels, and aluminum upper links....stock gears, stock drive-shaft

another quick update:

axial's web site states the lower gear range set reduces torque twist (43/13)....i find that with the 20T motor its still there so i will be dropping the motor for a 55T axial motor

this weekend is a local comp cant wait to lay the smack down on those $1000 rigs

I love the steel beadlocks six lug...RC4WD and Hot Racing, they are great wheels that are often overlooked for more bling. v

You will be much happier with a 35t motor.

Youuuuuuuuuuu betcha. can't stress that enough. a decent 35t geared right would match it for torque(if not surpass it) and have a lot more wheel speed.

35 or 45 turn on 3s and gear it. I like 45 allows me to run little bigger pinion, especially useful since I run 32 pitch gears. 55 should be ok if you gear it up, I run 45T 13/56 32 pitch 3s lipo.

Well since no mention of what battery is being used ,I guess ill speculate a bit.

if youre going to use a 2s battery then run a 27T motor with the stock spur and a 16T pinion if you want a 50/50 mix of speed for the hills and control for the obstacles.

Considering you've underdriven the rear, you will get even better control at slow speeds over obstacles but still maintain a great wheel speed up front to help up those hills.

3s.. definitely a 35T...this gives you what you would get with a 2s and a 27T..just gear higher than 16T

a 2s on a 35T or higher will take your chances of success away on some obstacles you may encounter...don't do it.

4s..I would still stick with a 35T but gear even higher than with a 35T

just my .02 cents

Nice clean and simple build by the way..good luck at the local comp

i had a DNF at the last event my stupid error. I lost 3 set screws from my drive shaft had lots of fun tho the rig was holding up really well with no issues.

I'm running 3s lipo's 65c 6500mah Greddy units

What upper end links did you use? Got a good Canadian supplier for them?
