Default Honcho Truggy Hybrid Build

So at work i decided and planned a 3/16th brake line truggy bed build...i got creative and thought whats wrong with the existing mounts? i figured i could use them and modify them and add my own tube work...anyone else make a Hybrid cage?

Not finished yet...i will work on it more tomorrow and take pics!

I was looking at my honcho a couple nights ago wondering how i could use part of the old cage to make it have more of a dove tailed truggy look and you have created exactly what I was thinking of! How did you attatch the tubing to the honcho cage? Can't wait to see more pictures!

Nice tube work. Does brake line weld up ok? any melting? How are those wraith tires doing for you? I have a 55turn and stock gears and love the torque for getting over rocks as a slow crawler. I put a 2.2 set on my honcho and I felt that they did not grip rocks very well. Mostly just spun on approach and wouldn't grip and go over them. I think the lugs are too tall and flimsy. Maybe the truck needs to be heavier. Do you run your truck fast like a trail/basher or slow for rock crawler?

the brake line melts EASY (only one tac at a time on low heat and high wire feed) up close my welds look primitive but after i grinded them slightly im confident in their strength...i used over sized screws threw the cab where the stock ones are located...they where big enough for the threads to bit inside the brake line....i took a few more pics ill load them in a few

I like tight technical crawling..i too have a 55t...the only reason im running the wraith tires is simply for snow...i normally run 1.9 rock crushers...im sure if i took the foams out theyd be better on rocks...as it sits with the losi shocks its too top heavy (i have rubber tube on the shock shaft so the tires dont rub) maybe ill take pics with my 1.9s

today i got my tool box secured and my tire mounted..good thing about using the stock parts is that the spare tire mount still bolts on! enjoy! im open to imput!

Its a full 2 inches shorter....looks like a mile shorter though!

tomorrow ill get pics of the way i mounted the bed box and tire! maybe ill throw my 1.9s back on it even though its snowing tonight lol

^if you look at the rear frame clip thats where i put zip ties to "hinge" the body...the only clips are the two in the hood! its super easy!

I like the idea of the stinger bar on the back as well prevent most flip overs forwards and back! Maybe a dumb question but what is that black plastic circle on top of the cab?
