Default motor overheating ,doesnt have power

I have a scx10 with a stock 27t motor,I put on 1.9 beadlocks with the proline tsl xl tires (the tall tires ,121mm)now the motor is running very warm almost too hot ,
I was running a 12t pinion then I changed it too a 18t pionion ,still runs hot ,has no power to climb over logs ,

Front rims 3.50oz weight on each wheel
Rear rims 2oz weight on each wheel
Could it be to much weight so the motor is lagging ?

Thanks

The larger pinion (18t) will give you more top speed, but will also heat your motor up faster. May want to go back to the 12t to put less strain on your motor.

The motor might just be on its last leg. Go back to the smaller pinion. I run a 14t with a 20t and have 4.75" toes without problems but the motor is still new.

too much weight, too high a pinion gear...lose some of the weight and go to a lower pinion gear, I would say the 12 should be a good starting point...

Just burn it up and have fun. The stock cans are cheap and readily available. There is no fun in driving like grandma!

the stock motors are not known for being super reliable or known for speed or torque. maybe go with a higher end motor like a holmes hobby motor. im running a 27t rebuildable motor with pitbulls on my truck. 218g up front and 186g in the rear.

I took some weight out
2oz in each front wheel
1oz in each rear wheel
I put on a 12t pinion ,
It works better now
It was fine when I was running the stock trep tires ,had 1.50oz on each front wheel ,and no weight in the rear wheels ,with 12t pinion
