Default Waterproof Brushless Setup question

What is a good brushless waterproof setup? I don't want to be a speed demon, I will like to have a setup that I can crawl but have a little more wheel speed.

Thanks!

Well its been a while for me...... just getting back into the scene but to go brushless and waterproof I'm not sure which to get. You will need something that is censored so it will still have the very slow technical driving capabilities. Censorless brushless get very glitchy and twitchy at low speeds. I always had good luck with Castle Mamba Max Pro ESC with a low kv motor running anything from a 2s to 4s LiPo. But there is a thread and I believe it's called "What powers your SCX10" .

Get a 35T brushed motor, 4s lipo, play with gearing to get it where you want it. If you really want some grunt, get a dual motor plate and two 35T brushed!!

Buy whatever you want for a ESC and Motor.
Buy $12 of conformal coating.

Waterproof it yourself!

My buddy is currently running a vxl on 2s stock motor 3500 kV, it works pretty good, minor cogging in binds and low throttle. He solved a lot of it with gearing down. Brushed is definitely smoother and the motors are cheap enough to replace regularly.
My next combo will probably be a Castle sv3 with a cheap integy 35t on 3s

Actually really easy.... where the censor plug goes into the motor I just put 2 - 3 coats of liquid electrical tape and problem solved.

Would water seep in through the bearings at all?

I can't tell you for sure 100% yes or no. But I have run brushless motors underwater with no issues. Hell the VXL setup is promoted as waterproof. and Castle SV3 Brushless Waterproof combo as well. So they must know something we dont. Good luck.

Who cares about vxls and sidewinders? Neither are sensored. If you want a waterproof brushless crawler pick up a MMP, a 4 pole sensored motor, conformal coating, and dielectric grease. I completely submerge my junk with zero issues using these proven methods.

We were actually done talking about the ESC and he had a question regarding the MOTOR. So I gave him some info. Read all of a post before just writing useless info. Thanks for telling us the same thing twice though, appreciated.
