| Front 4 link question
I have question for anyone that has put together their truck with the Axial 4 link truss and custom upper links with Revo rod ends. Mocking everything up yesterday, it was pretty obvious that the Revo rod ends were too big to fit underneath the stock servo plate on the front end. If I cut the stock servo plate or get the Wraith plate, does that provide enough clearance for the Traxxas rod ends to move freely? If not, I'm thinking of getting a Level 3 4 link mount for the front of the truck.

I actually have a wide 4 link mount by level3 to get rid of, let me know if you're interested. Pretty sure that would get you away from the plate, let me go make sure revo rod end balls fit in the mount, as I know they don't squish as axials do.

I used traxxas Jato rod ends. They are longer, but not as "big".

^^ Second that. I made a servo plate out of .125" thick aluminum in the same shape as the stock plate then I notched out where the rod ends would be hitting. Never had a problem with that set up. Four link in the front is better than 3 all day long.

Or use some thin spacers under the plate. I had to space mine up to make my long servo arm work with out hitting the pumpkin.

Well, luckily I have 2 trucks I'm building so I can cut the servo plate on one and run the Level 3 mount on the other. |

EDIT: During my lunch break I added a single 2mm spacer between the plate and screw holes on each side of the axle. Now it's juuuuust right! Last edited by DowntownScience; 06-11-2014 at 04:14 PM. | |
