| First scale rig "Gr33n" build
Been in rc for quite a bit, but finally making the plunge into the scale side of things. I've been trolling around here for a few months now. Trying to research the ins and outs how you guys build bullet proof rigs. What I've got so far... SCX10 G6 Built with: Hexcrews armor plated stainless steel hex screws Axial rockster 2.2 wheels Axial Ripsaw 2.2 tires Axial hardened over/under drive axle gears MIP splined center drive shafts Axial hardened steel transmission gear set Soon to come... Tekin ROC 412 2300kv Tekin RX8 Vanquish stage one kit on order RC ROCK ARMOR G6 Rear Bumper on order RC4WD 100mm KING shocks on order So that's where I'm at as of today. Definitely looking forward to getting this thing out on some trails! Suggestions welcome! I will be updating as I go. Last edited by Gr33n; 07-03-2014 at 08:37 PM. |

Its nice but why did you put 2.2s on there? It's not very scale and it makes the truck bind. Here is all that I recommend to you: - move the battery plate in the front - upgrade to all steel gears in the transmission..by Robinson Racing, these axial gears suck. - use 32p gearing - mirror the transmission - seriously change to 1.9s..much more suitable for this chassis, I'm telling you from experience. Btw the over/under is too much for the truck to deal with, change it to over/normal gears, this will work better haha. Yeah also, upgrade to aluminum c-hubs, knuckles, and lockouts. Those will strip faster than you can keep them together. Good luck and if you need more help, pm me and I'll be more than glad to help. |

Looks good for a first build. What motor and ESC do to plan to throw in it. My Wraith runs a Pro4 and doesn't have a problem with Axial metal gears. Pick up a Crawlerdad light bar for the front. **edit** Stick with the 1.9s |

| Re: First scale rig "Gr33n" build What? Why would you say that if you have no idea how he's gonna use his rig? OD/UD gears are not at all too much for the truck to "deal" with. Have you even tried that setup? However, I do agree with you on the 2.2's...they just don't belong.
