| Bronco to hilux conversion
Well got me the rc4wd Mojave body had been wanting one for some time now. Got to work on shortening the wheel base and this is what I came out with. I still want to get some sorter shocks to lower it a bit. I plan on making some rock sliders and a roll bar for it. As well as removing the front bumper and changing it out. |

Please respond to length of wheel base and show pictures of the frame and details of the body mounting and also of the rear shock mount set up you have used. I have got a toyota in the works. But couldn't decide what to do with the rear shock set up. I did not want to lose travel. And also wanted to use scx 10 body mounting through the plastic body? Yours seems to be coming along pretty well nice job. I was thinking of bobbing the bed on mine. How about you?

Yea I'll get some pics up. I made a bracket very much like the gearhead one. You can get one on rpp if you don't want to fabricate it. I chose to make mine out of aluminum angle. Relocated the shocks begins the axles and to center on cross member bracket that I made. I will get some pics of it but will do it tomorrow. Wheel base is right at 11.5. I don't know the length of the links they are custom made from titanium by jcpante. The articulation is awesome in this set up I made.

my son made his own gearhead design Rr shock mount. but he didn't like how the articulation worked. So he made his own brackets and leaned the shocks progressively and feels that it works better now. He did have to install higher rate Rr. coil springs in compensation for the progressive shock positioning. I purchased a Cantilever kit for him to try... but he didn't want to hassle with installing it and seems pleased with his current altercation. * there is an intention of relocating the Rr. body mount farther rearward on the frame (or maybe just include another). But the son has been lazy about getting that done. Last edited by TacoCrawler; 08-25-2014 at 11:48 AM. | |

Well got out of church and thought I would work on the rig a bit. I stopped at local auto parts store got me some brake line and got to work . After a bit of welding and cutting this is what I came up with. Last edited by 4X4 Freak; 10-12-2014 at 03:20 PM. |
