| My Honcho Build by Mordanis
Hey Everyone, I am new here and fairly new to crawling but not new to RC vehicles. The game changes I learned though when you get into the crawling world. I decided to go with the Axial Honcho SCX10. I was tossing around the wraith and the Honcho but in the end I went Honcho for looks and then what I can do with it. I can never leave things stock. I didnt know if I was going to go scale/trail/crawler. I knew I just wanted to have fun I didnt like the bumper so first thing was first I cut that down. Then I was trying out some motor and ESC combos trying to see what it was like but I ended up going back to the stock ESC and I burnt up the 27t and now I am running an RC4WD 35T. So far so good I do run Lipo batteries and I am pretty happy with it. I do need a BEC though for sure and that is going to be a mod a do in the future but on with the build. I found the integy website because a buddy told me to check it out. I went shopping... Need to address the steering flex while crawling and then I really wanted more lights. Then the heavy rims and wheels followed. I wanted bigger wheels and tires and know alot of you guys dont like the 2.2's on the Honcho but I am loving it. had to cut the body a bit to get it all to fit. I went with the Integy heavy wheels. Very please and the look is awesome. I hooked up all the integy goodies and went to a buddies for a run. The links started flexing so bad in the rear with the increased torque of the motor and the bigger tires. My buddy happened to have some aluminum links from his wraith a friend made and I threw them on not expecting much. They worked really well though. The price was right as well. Love free. I then decided to paint up the cage in the rear green and the light covers green. I might do the bumper as well. I am loving the green black and silver color scheme. I also painted the links silver. They were red to start with. Bit of Flex I then realized the body/suspension mount was flexing after I went to the proline scaler shocks 90-110 mm so I also got some integy aluminum mounts. So here is where I am at now My Honcho 35 turn RC4WD Motor 12 pinion and 86 spur gearing Stock ESC Spectrum DX4S Bumper Mod Cage Mod Integy Black Aluminum Steering Arm Integy Green Aluminum Rock Sliders Integy Green/Black Aluminum Light Bar Integy Silver Aluminum Body/Suspension Mounts Integy Silver Aluminum Cross Members Integy Green/Silver Aluminum 2.2 Heavy Rims Proline 2.2 Super Swampers Proline 90-110 mm Scaler Shocks Custom Aluminum Links Castle Creations BEC Next.... follow me on instagram mike.harvey Last edited by mordanis; 10-01-2014 at 01:05 AM. |

You probably won't buy any more integy items after owning some. They'll wear out pretty quick, specifically the balls in the links. Poor design and poor quality metal. Been there done that.

those are not integy links. They are custom made.
