Default Trailing arm, slightly custom build

So I crashed my scx10 pretty hard last weekend. Decided to go a different route with my repairs. I broke a vp link, not the rod end. So I decided to go to a trailing arm setup, with Werty arms. I also wrecked the frame, so, in a hard decision, I went with the TSS scxhr chassis in alu. The arms and frame should be in next week. Since 3 of 4 shocks are done, I am going to mock up the chassis prior to ordering new shocks, thanks to Eric0424 for the recommendations on associated shocks. Once I get the frame rails, I will start the teardown/rebuild, for now I have borrowed the wheels and tires for the Steg6 this weekend. Also will be 'borrowing' the servo, which is a holmes. Pics to come

Actually, first thought after breaking the VP link, trailing arms. I don't think I would do a full metal tube chassis, weighs too much

That depends on who builds it and the material they use.

Very true!!! Guys that use solid rod kill me. I use 4130 chromoly tubing, just like the pros.

OK, I have the chassis, it came in the mail today. When I get home from work that's getting done tonight. There's also a chance that my trailing arms are at home, but possibly tomorrow.

Doing some test fitting, I need shorter front uppers, my angles are whack. I think I can get away with 90mm shocks on the ta. My big fit problem right now is this, so I've contacted werty and he's helping me out with a new bumper to help clear this.

Worried that I'm going to find similar (but not as bad as yours lol) when I pull apart my SCX after last outings big fall.

Ya this body has had some love already, but I guess I forgot a reference pic eh. I'm not going for huge aesthetic changes here, I'm pretty happy with where it is right now. The front bumper though, I'll be glad to see gone. It was an rc4wd 'tough armor', but I broke the d ring shackle off on the second run. And the too winch plate is warped. I don't know why they call it tough.

Thanks for reference pics, looks great like it was! Nice crawl area and I like the paint too. Are those 1.9s stretched on 2.2 CI wheels or?

I'd cut off front bumper on body before you get you new bumper built.

I already cut off 95% of the front bodyshell bumper. I kept the lip, for a bit of stiffness. Ya 1.9treps 4.50 lil nova softs on ci 2.2 1 in wide. Running a 350 hub vp slw I had sitting there. With traxxas wide hexs, it fits the VP 8deg fronts.

Mocked up using stock scx10 shocks on the rear, salvaged pl scalers on the front. It looks like I can buy a new set of scalers for the rear, as this length shock gives a pretty decent stance and a lot of wheel travel

Small update: have some custom front upper links coming to fix my pinion problem. The front uppers I had on, went to the rear uppers, pinion angle is right where I want it now. Have my werty bumper, have only mocked it up, but fits perfect.

The dcw honcho hinges fit the frame perfect, I had them on the old frame, and they survived.

Have a stack of parts coming, including od/ud gears and some pitbulls. Some axial 8 holes, which I'm thinking need a color change.

Have almost completed the build, still require 2 screws to finish. 2 screws. Will have pictures up tomorrow of the completed, minus 2 friggin screws, build.
