Default I have a clearance problem, solution?

So its an SCX10, that Im building to have a ~10" wheelbase. It has a DIG on the trans, its supposed to be on the rear shaft but I run it on the front, for scale realism. The rear shaft (Metal, dont know the brand) is contacting the spur gear, and the cross pin jams it right up. What is the best solution, smaller spur or going back to a plastic driveshaft?

(Heres a crappy picture)

Drop the spur a tooth or two or check out Holmes Hobbies for their extended tranny outputs.

Smaller spur and pinion if you want to keep the current gearing. Output extension will work too, but may limit your articulation (driveshaft bind) depending on how much travel you want.

I think since its already got a pretty short wheelbase an output extension wouldnt work, although Ill keep them in mind, I didnt know they existed :P Ill have to grab a smaller spur :P Thanks!!

You could also use dual motor plate and move the motor to upper position, but it will move your CG as well ...

+1 for Junfac Carbon Steels. Or of course the ever-revered MIPs

that is for sure a mip shaft. Junfac use metal rings to hold the pin in.

If you pick up an extended wraith MIP drive hub, part#MIP11117. It will easily clear a 60t, possibly a 62 with lathing (or grinding in my case) the hub thinner..............I might have to try this, I have a rig that could be geared down a bit.
