Default My Burly truck build

Since I first seen Harley's post on this subject I had to build one. I did use several of his recommendations. This truck does not disappoint! So here are the pictures.

This is the donor truck.

The parts that will be used.

I did install under drive gears front & rear. I also installed RC4WD 12mm wheel spacers to stop the 2.2 tires from rubbing.

I used 110mm king shocks with 50 wt in the rear & 40 wt in front. I also installed Gear Head shock keys to help compensate for the burly kit.

Everything is bolted up & fits great. I used this Proline Chevy body due to it having a 13.25" wheel base.

I got the body painted, this turned out awesome! Best paint job I ever did.

The power train consists of a AE-5 ESC, 20 turn Wraith motor, 16 tooth pinion, 87 tooth spur, steel gears in trans & RR one piece bottom gear. Drive shafts are MIP AX10 shafts with Super Shafty exclusive splines. These are a must with the longer wheel base. This rig is running on 3s. I ran this rig for 20 minutes in tall grass and the temps didn't exceed 105 degrees.

Here are a couple more pics. The rig definitely needs sway bars! I have to see what Harley came up with. Lol

Took the burly truck out for her first mud run. She did very well but needs some tuning.

Shame to muddy it up but I guess that's what you built it for. That slow motion mud flinging looked fantastic.Almost sounded like gear grindage at the end.

Thanks, there is body roll but I was able to control it with stiffing the shocks on one side of the Vechicle. But I think it definitely needs sway bars at least in the rear to start.

I received my Super Shafty executive MIP's today. I only needed it for the rear. They are solid and work well.

Here's the rear

And the front

I think that sound was water in the tires causing them to wobble out of balance and rub the body, didn't look like the slipper was working at all lol

The slipper is locked down. The tires do rub a little.
