I was thinking of spraying the inside with the tan and outside with the Matte. I've never painted the outside of a lexan body though.

What wheel base do you think it is? Closer to the dingo?

Well I'm hoping it fits the Deadbolt I just purchased from Tower Hobbies Saturday.

Dingo is 11.4" wheelbase
Deadbolt is 12" wheelbase
Others are 12.3" wheelbase

It would be nice if there were some actual specs listed for the body somewhere. I have been looking for wheelbase info since they announced this body and haven't come up with anything.

If you did the inside with a deep red/brown/dark orange when the outside scratched it would look like rust coming through.....

Took some measurements.

12" wheelbase

18 1/2" long

8 3/4" wide

5 1/2" tall at the cab

3 1/4" tall at the bed

I thought you have to use lexan paint on lexan bodies.

I have thoroughly tortured my test piece and cannot get it to peel or come off. Not bad for a $3 can of paint from Lowes considering a can of Tamiya PS paint is $8 for a quarter of the amount. This is great because I forgot black paint at Hobbytown yesterday. Let the masking begin.........

Usually you have to paint a clear coat with lexan paint before using non lexan paint. This is for it to stick to the lexan. If you gonna paint the outside with clear matte lexan paint, put a layer on the inside also before the tan, just to be sure it sticks.

All you need to do to adjust your wheelbase to fit is shorten the upper and lower links (based on your picture, it looks like you'd want to shorten the front of a stock 12.3" rig and leave the rear as is). You can either make your own links easily from allthread and brake line (plenty of posts all over about how to do it) or buy new ones made for the 12" wheelbase. Everything else (chassis, driveshafts, etc.) stays the same. Very simple to do, unless you're just looking for an excuse to buy another rig (and there's certainly nothing wrong with that).

Yeah I thought about that but my JK is set up perfect and I was hoping to just be able to swap bodies when I wanted. But............there's nothing wrong with adding to my collection of Axial products when the wife gives the ok.

It's come out really nice did you paint on the outside?.....some light buckets/led's and a little bit of detailing will really finish it off.
