56/12 with a Holmes Crawlmaster 13t and 5.5 inch tall tires is a tiny bit faster than a fast walk. This is on 2s. With this combo and an axial 20t the speed doubles.

| Re: Pinion spur gearing 32p That doesn't sound too crazy. I don't know what gearing ratio you were running before but 54 spur and 9 pinion are about the smallest sizes I've heard of for both, on an SCX anyway. I would just give it a try and be ready to buy some bigger pinions for dialing in the wheel speed. Pinions are cheaper and easier to change. I have an assortment that I've built up for just this reason. Keep an eye on your motor temps too after the switch. HTH

We tried it out tonight he ran the truck for about an hour a bit faster than the 48p 87/14 gearing still climbs well the motor didnt get overly warm ( could easily hold my fingers on it for extended periods he is running larger tires as well (axial 1.9 bf krawlers) might see if i can source a slightly larger spur and experiment a bit.

Im sure the 48p will work well for most people but here we have an abundance of silica (sandblasting sand) and fine silt as we reside in an area comprised of river valleys so it gets in through screw holes with the water needless to say teardowns and greasing/cleaning are quite ritual events
