Default Tire size for true scale SCX10 Rubicon

Hey guys, I own a real rubicon and I'm trying to build a true scale Rubicon of my truck. I bought the proline 4 door rubicon body painted it black and even purchased the insanely overpriced RC4WD Octane bead lock wheels which is essentially a replica of the real OEM Rubicon hard rock wheels. I'm having a hard time deciding what tires to use. I don't like the Axial tires which look ludicrously over sized at 117mm or something like that. Even if I ran 38" tires on my life size truck it wouldn't even look close to how big the Axials are scale. So I currently have a few Tamiya CC-01 rigs. They have the KRT 90mm tires on them and one has the 96mm which is pretty much the biggest they can run. They look pretty true to scale so I'm wondering how they would match up on my SCX10. I really like the KRT tires, they're cheap work great and look good. The next size up is 108mm, but I feel like that's too big for a scale appearance. If anyone could give me opinions or even have pics I would appreciate it. Basically, this SCX is going to be shelf queen. I've purchased suspension lowering mounts to drop the body so it looks more scale.

thanks!

Bry

Hey run them, 3.8" is a little small for a runner but for a shelf queen...

Sub 4" tires work really well. Remember if you scale it out, drive it like a 1:1 JK. I built a 2 Door JK with 4.19 Baja Claws/80 mm shocks and it pulled off the JK on 35" tires look nicely

Sounds like you're on the right track. If you scale out those sizes:

90mm=900mm=35.4"
96mm=960mm=37.8"

108mm=1080mm=42.5"
