I have been having problems with my SCX10. I already installed the BEC and set it to 7.4V for my Hitec 7950TH servo. I am not running a 2s battery but I think it effects the BEC. I can run it with no problems for 15 min, then it goes out. I only have steering and zero forward or reverse. Can somebody help?? Thanks.

I waterproofed it by removing the blue shrink wrap and put the whole thing inside plasti dip, I'm not sure if that effected the BEC's function?

I did the same thing to one of mine and had almost the same problem. also used the Plasti Dip on an ESC and fried it. Never figured out why, but never used it again to water proof.

Plastidip insulates heat really well. That may be part of the issue. I just plastidipped a sensored ESC, and I made sure to keep the heatsink exposed. I'm hoping this helps.

One thing to look at though, did you make sure to remove the middle wire from your ESC to your receiver? If you are powering your receiver from 2 sources it can wreak havoc.
