I think you're going to be getting a lot of requests for these parts. What a subtle and seamless solution!

This is what that body needs! And the change is subtle but somehow it does look right now. Great idea with doubling up the cage. I originally planed to get a Double cab and the short cage to get to that length 8went with a FJ45 instead) But again, a rig I want! LOL.

If one were so inclined to extend the wheelbase on their UMG, I would say this is a great option.

It looks factory oem, great job! You need to make a deployable trailer now for it (missle, radar, artillery, ect) to complete look.

Always interested in new paint techniques. It would be nice to know, because knowing is half the battle.

Thanks guys! I'm pretty happy that this didn't turn into a huge failure LOL. Now it's at the 305mm wheelbase, it's time for me to give it a run in the near future. I know that I still want some more front weight though, and I've even contemplated switching out the 2-speed transmission for the older 3-gear transmission.

3-gear is my trans of choice in these rigs, though moving forward I may go with the Stealth-X. For simplicity and strength, though, a 3-gear with VP gears inside is pretty much bullet proof for any kind of brushed setup. Only "issue" I've had was that it pushes the motor forward, so a 550 can will interfere with your battery tray. I personally prefer to run a 3S shorty pack, so it was a no-brainer for me to chop and box in the battery tray. You lose some front weight by losing the ability to run a larger pack, but I think with even a subtle OD and the ability to equip a 550 can, you more than make up for it and the benefits outweigh the drawbacks. Plus, again, you're moving your motor further forward on the chassis, so that will help what you're aiming for, as well.

I further remedied my weight bias issue by moving my receiver box to just behind the front bumper:

EDIT: Sorry, made the image waaay too big!

Really cool Soze. One of the most well executed mogs I’ve seen, great work with the extension.

LOL. It wasn't too bad, I only had to deal with cubes and cylinders. I'm sure I'll have a rough time when I need to start messing with more complicated shapes. I was blindly using fusion360, but by the end of this project, I actually figured out some of the tools a bit better and how to move back and forth in history and how to edit existing objects so it was a good learning experience.

Man - this is so weird...

I had just been thinking when I previously posted in this thread about what could I do to make the UMG10 mount onto a VS4-10 chassis with (most likely) TRX-4 portal axles and the dig from a SCX10 III(again, this is a project for way down the road).

Then today I revisit the thread and see the awesome fix you came up with!

I may need to use longer spacers or even a 3rd roll hoop to get it even longer, but you have given me hope!

I like the stretched look much better - and I already liked it plenty...

That is a slick design! It looks great extended! The double bars look great!

I think it looks much better with the extended wheel base. Can't wait to hear how it performs.

That is some quality problem solving right there. I still love that paint and I agree that you don’t want to destroy it. Solid choice on the wheels and tires too. Super awesome look to the overall build.

Well, soze, you made me do it...

Picked up a pre-painted (and weathered!) UMG10 body from a forum member here.

It'll be awhile before I get a chassis set up for it, but it's a heck of a start.

He included everything that goes with it - all accessories, interior, decals, bumper (also weathered), wheels, and tires.

I'm super-stoked about it!

Nice! That looks pretty awesome already!

I've been meaning to fill out the bed with stuff, but I'm focusing on performance before I do all that. There are a few things I want to do to it still. I'm likely going to swap the 2-speed kit transmission in this one with the 3-speed RTR transmission in the UMG10 6x6. This rig does not need a 2-speed at all, and could use something lighter, while I think the 2-speed kit tranmission mounted flipped in the UMG10 6x6 seems like an interesting thing to try.

Got the UMG10 out for a little run up El Modena Open space trail. Overall, it did pretty good, but even though the Pro-Line Grunts were better than the stock Axial MT45 tires, the foams were still holding it back. I'll need to look into getting either some dual stage foam or some small single stage CI foams for these tires. The rig can still also use some front weight down low.

Took out the Axial UMG10 Cobramog again for a run at a local trail. I know I said I needed to do some changes to it last time, but I didn't have time to, so it's still sitting the same as I ran it last year. Anyway, it does great at this scale stuff, and I was really happy with it!

That looks great SOZE. I thought a UMG10 Bed set-up might be good for my next build, but it looks like the parts are discontinued.

Keep up the great work man!

Thanks man! Yeah unfortunately the UMG10s are discontinued, and the UMG10 specific parts are drying up. I've been stashing a few parts since I like the UMG10 body so much. I plan to build another one.
