Default Akumu - Jeep Jk 2dr build

Started building my class 1 crawler the past weeks, decided on using an scx10 ii chassis that i was familiar with, cut short to around 270mm wheelbase.

Got this body at a really low price it was devoid of interior, makes for a perfect comp c1 rig... imho.

It's still a WiP but used it during our Class 1 competition last sunday. It actually performed better than expected, unfortunately the maiden run did not turn a trophy hehehe

i need to install the angry face grill, not because i want to... but i need to, the servo hits the stock grill (used a front servo bumper mount). also a drop bed needs to be created using thin styrene sheels.

Thanks for viewing!

That's a sweet rig. Where did you get the body?

it's really nice but huge. since this is my C1 comp rig i had to cut the bumper and shorten it to give better approach angles.

the og bumper, width is perfrect for SORCCA class 1 but it heavy and large...

moded bumper and took off approx. half an inch...

the bumper doubles as the front lock for the body. I had to grind 2.5mm off the front bumper servo mount to make it all fit.

I've seen GCM jeep builds and they look really good, wish they where easily available here.

This jeep body is so heavy, even with a gutted interior, but it still managed to get me 3rd in the class 1 even last December. I am thinking i should wait for a fiberglass repo of this body, hopefully soon.

Anyways, the shocks i used where not to my liking, it was too bouncy that i actually rolled down the hill several times.

This porject is now on ice, the body is in storage and the chassis is for sale (locally) along another jeep body and tires. I have build another class 1 right and used that on the last class 1 comp of the year and won 2nd... it's based on an SCX10 II chassis using carbon fiber chassis rails and some stuff i had made late last year.

Thanks!
