| SCX3 vs VS4-10 Ultra
Aside from cost and metal vs plastic, they look to be similar trucks. Wondering what advantages the SCX3 has over the VS4 in terms of performance? |

I would say none. It's heavier, higher cog than vs4-10 ultra. It does have dig though. The scx10 iii has far more in common with the Traxxas trx4 than the vanquish.

The Ultra is all metal and what you could call upgraded to the max. It doesn't included 2-speed which I think is totally unnecessary on any scaler anyway. It also does not include a dig. The dig is a $100 option on the Ultra. The knock against the Ultra IMO is that the steering throw will be less than an SCX10 III. The Ultra also has interference up from when the suspension is fully compressed whereas the SCX10 III does not. Will that ever come into play in the wild when only when when side of the axle completely compresses one shock? Probably not. The Ultra also has 10mm shorter shocks so you'll get less suspension travel/articulation, but with that you get a lower center of gravity. How does all of this add up to real world performance? I don't know because I have yet to run either truck. |
