| Re: summit trans in wraith for high speed bashing? Spend the money on a good brushless system (Pro4 and Mamba Max Pro) and there is no point in changing the trans. It will be as fast as the truck can handle and still crawl. The Summit conversion is pointless.

Ok so I currently have the summit tranny in a scx10. I built a wraith with a pro4 3300 and mmp and have imo the best of borth worlds. My scx10 will kick the wraiths ass in a straight up race but is VERY uncontrollable at those speeds. Crawling is better for the wraith as I find the summit tranny gives a lot of torque twist. i am know getting peices together to switch the scx10 back to an axial tranny with the same combo as the wraith as I just love it. Note I have broke more parts with the pro4 mmp combo then I have with the summit tranny with mmp and tekin redline 13.5. Mosty due to my abuse and some from the massive amounts of torque the pro4 gives!!! Justr my 2 cents so IMO it is not worth the trouble or hassle to shoe horn a summit tranny in a wraith. |

I have a Summit in my Wraith based custom chassis. I love it. That being said, its not worth it for a stock Wraith chassis. Its is heavy and would make it more top heavy. I had to make a cradle and build the frame wide enough to lay it flat (well, flatter). I have awesome crawling speed as well as nearly stupid fast speed. Someone said it earlier and its true: its almost uncontrollable. |
