Finally had a minute to get these assembled and painted. Really happy how they turned out. Just need to put them under something. Thinking the large scale Ford Raptor maybe. Big thanks to ShooterFab for the beautiful tig welding, Fast Eddies bearings to keep em spinning smooth, VP for making the knuckles, c hubs, and pan hard mount, Highland Crawlers no slop HD steel lockers, Axial universals, and Axial HD 36/14 gears. |

Great looking stuff Clay! Didn't know you had gotten this deep into this stuff. I need to swing by your shop next time I'm up that way.

Norm is gonna kick my butt. When I was listing off all the great vendors products that were put into these axles I forgot Team3six's Rocklübe II. Sorry bud. Last edited by CarterFab; 03-30-2012 at 08:54 PM. |

I would say Raptor unless you wanted to go super scale with an indipendent frontend, then I would say the jeep or the Willys - either way, those axles turned out awesome !!

The raptor body currently has a Slash 4x4 front end under it and will get a centered diff, but not these. Carter Fab & Machine: Hand Made Customs |

And something to help them live up to their name. Titanium Big Boi shafts. Courtesy of Creeperbob. And since RC4wd has come out with a centered housing and I'm sure Vanquish is not far behind, I would hit him up for a set of shafts. They won't be quite as beefy as these, I don't have ugly bolts passing through my housings holding link mounts on and don't know why they still make them like that, but they are grade 5 and will be stronger than a plain steel shaft. . This is how the housing for straight axles should look. Notice the lack of ugly ass hardware going through the tubes I hope you guys bring something to the table that can compete with the Titans or better yet the Ultimate 9s Or the BlackRock 60s I openly welcome the challenge and once again my fingers will be crossed. Steve has my number, I would love an all VP Scale housing, I'm already outfitting all my custom housings with your parts. Love to know what's going on. Clear Eyes, Full Hearts, Can't Lose | |
