| How Hot Are You Running Your Wraith?
Well usually I do the 5 second rule if I can't keep my finger on the can that long without burning myself I definitely have over geared. Recently I upgraded some essential drive line pieces on my Wraith kit namely Supershafty's Beefy top shaft for the Wraith as well as installing the RR Slash Gen3 Steel Slipper which is a 56T mod8 and I coupled that with a RR steel mod 8 14T pinion. Running gear: BRXL w/CM 16T on 3s 40C 1550mah MaxAmps pack from my MERV days. CC BEC @ 7.4V on a 7950TH R2j stainless uppers CAC Aluminum EZ Locks 2.2 on R35 Ripsaws fronts weighted 8 oz each not including wheels/CI Closed Cell soft foams/tires. Rears weighted 4 oz each not including wheels/CI Closed Cell med foams. Aluminum Roof, side, and cargo panels. -DMG and CI Electronics and battery moved to hood. Supershafty top shaft/steel RR tranny gears and slipper/MIP shafts Losi 4" 60wt front 50wt rear white springs all around. VP Titanium tie rod/drag Axial aluminum XR knuckles/C's All in all this thing is a beast rock hopping and tire shreading! With all that aluminum and steel it doesn't weigh as much as my other 2.2 TT comp rig. I'm guessing in the ballpark of 7 lbs. RTR. Now with 14/56 gearing the battery puffs a bit after LVC and the motor is usually around high 90's to around 110* I'm assuming this is ok? How hot is everyone else running brushed or sensored brushless? |

been running titan 12t's until i can afford to go brushless, with 21/80 gearing and 2s 5000mah batteries. it gets a little hotter then i'd like. but these motors are cheap and temporary, so it's okay. i just ordered some 3s batteries so im sure it'll get even hotter.

I run 3s 5000mah 40c packs a MMP and a Ballistic 4.5 550 with 15/56 gearing. It's the speed I want but runs very hot. The ESC is naked and in a closed box so toward the end of the battery it shuts down on its own due to heat. The motor runs about 115 - 120. I might drop down a tooth or two on the pinion and see how it goes.

I'm running HH 35T machine wound with BRXL mostly on 2s 5000mah geared 87/16 and the motor doesn't even get warm. On 3s 2250mah it gets a little warm but doesn't get run for as long of a duration between breaks.
