| threading screws!
I've over tightened the screws on my axle, where the lock outs are. I hardly tightened then at all barely noticed any resistance at all when i tightened them , but those cursed self tappers did there worst! Is there a simple fix or do i need a New differential housing? Also does anyone have a link to hardened gear box gears other than Robinson racing! I want to keep to 48p .

You could just get a new axle housing which would be the best thing to do there 10.00 new and the get a RCScrews kit which are not like the cheap rusty screw that originally come on the rig. Or try JB weld or glue in the holes the drill a small hole to put the screws back in, kind of the ghetto way though.

Just pick up some 3x6mm or 3x8mm stainless from CreationFab and thread them into the same holes. They'll hold. I've changed over both my Wraith and Dingo. No more loose screws. CreationFab - Screws Metric Button Head |

Oh, and HR makes steel gears for the tranny. Look for part number SSCP1000T About $30 give or take for all three. |

Cheap and effective: get some good quality gel type super glue, apply to last 2-3 threads on screw, install, snug down and let dry. If one application doesnt hold do it again. dont use too much or will glue lockout to axle. I had 2 that wouldnt even snug in the slightest, would just spin and spin. Did this and can now snug em up nice and tight. Put a small dab on again whenever removing and reinstalling screws and they never come loose and fall out on their own as well. Has been a permanent fix for me.

CA glue helps to hold the screw. Or get a solid threaded hole: http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/axles...s-finally.html |
