Default suspension travel

i searched on here and couldnt really find wat i want to know. i use my wraith for hard rock crawling only. im not worried about taking bumps at high speed or jumping it or anything like that. my question is what can i do to make my wraith have more flex with out having to modify the chassis to much?

Longer shocks will help but its gonna make you center of gravity higher too. Crawler king shock or savage shock will work but you'll also need the lowering kit to keep the cog lower.

do your self a favor and leave it stock. the stock shocks have enough travel for crawling. too much flex just makes it a less capable rig because then its easy to drop a tire into a hole where your tire would have "floated" over it if the suspension didnt allow the tire so much flexibly to make the drop into the hole. and it also makes it easier for the rig to twist up in it's self when on a climb causing it to flip.

If you really searched here you would have found the answer I'm giving you, its a common thing for a newbie to think the more flex the better.

I'm in the same boat and also keep reading that less is more. It just looks cool when everything is all flexed up :-)
What should one do to their stock stocks then? I put 1lb springs and went up to 40w with 3 hole piston but almost think I should have went lighter weight - maybe 25 or 30?

i don't know man i live in one of the rockiest places around donner summit, i run a 139 shock for a sweet flex true your cog is higher but it depends if your goin vertical or not, i love the flex and belly clearance
. gets me in and out of some fun shit!! depends on your driving skill and what you want out of your rig

I had the 139mm shocks laying around and threw them on. within 10 minutes i stopped crawling and modded the shocks to have the same amount of travel as the stockies. I have my lower shock/link mounts flipped and my rear upper shock mount flipped as well. The stock shocks have plenty of flex. Less is more for a crawler. To much flex and it just gets sloppy, floppy and to un predictable.

It's a well discussed fact on this site that too much suspension articulation is hard to predictably tune. All 4 tires don't need to touch a surface, we have locked diffs.
