Is this potentially sold? Or am I reading this wrong?

Nope, just possibly sending it out to Lucia for a guest appearance at Northwet Scale Champs.

Unless someone else gave Clay a princely sum for it....

CarterFab 08-20-2012 04:37 PM

It would be very pricey given just the axles alone.
I'm serious about sending it and letting someone drive who actually competes. I'm just a back yard crawler and occasionally take the toys with the toys(1:1s), and I want nice pics of this rig cuz I plan on making it my display rig for custom work. That said I don't want it smashed to shit and burnt up. Haha
But like I always say, everything is for sale.

You want me to get the wife to drive it? Throw it on 2s and her light finger I doubt it would get a scratch. But I want to know where your going to mount the gopro?

CarterFab 08-21-2012 06:36 AM

I might get o make the trip after all but still up in the air. Wife got back in town last night and was telling me how they want her to handle some business up in Washington with this pissed off look in her face, meanwhile I'm trying to fight the urge to smile. Asked her how the end of September sounded. Hahah

Got something really nice in the mail yesterday and was very happy when I opened the package. Any of you guys that travel or just don't want to dirty up your car after play time owes it to yourself to pick one of these up. It's the Wraith Carrier bag from Scott Anthony Designs. Looks to be very well made with heavy duty zippers and a handle on top.

EXO engine is gonna be just right for this. Right style and will give the look and also cover the battery and electronics box.

And the rear Titan 60 is going under the knife for some more scale goodness. Will involve some welding and of course machining.

Nice engine choice - agreed it fits well with the build.
And what else could you possibly add to that axle?

Got an idea while staring at it the other night as I was also taking apart my centered diff steering axle I built. I don't run rear steer, but............

doublej 08-25-2012 02:00 AM

Knuckle flush with axle tubes..... Hint hint.

CarterFab 08-25-2012 07:46 AM

Got to go to the machine shop today to sand blast housing, get my newest scale item out of the lathe, and then to my shop to do some welding. Hope to get the rear done today

Well my son got burnt out quick today. After 1/2 hour at the machine shop he was ready for lunch and home.
Maybe get some more done tomorrow.
Pair of narrowed axles and a hydraulic ram.

Is it two tubes? So the outer stays put?

It's neither. I don't run rear steer, at least not functional anyways. Just more money and more problems. But this will give me the looks that are not possible with a functional rear steer setup, without a lot of modifications.
End result will be another Woodlee setup keeping with theme of W.O.D.

It will be a fixed unit with all the right scale appearance.

I gotcha - Not a bad idea. I have been eyeballing that 38special of his since he built it. Sooner or later I'll break down and build it.

CarterFab 08-26-2012 08:12 PM

Here is the updated Titan60. Still need to clean up and mount the ram and start working on the tie rods.

http://i484.photobucket.com/albums/r...98A68C0514.jpg

Also worked on the engine cage tonight. Didn't have any of my reference pics with me so I went from memory. Cage unbolted for access. Looks like the battery will stay put unless it needs replaced, I'll just pull the hood to charge. Just not a quick way to make battery changes worth the trouble
http://i484.photobucket.com/albums/r...989DDC57A0.jpg

Also need to clean the hood up now that it's clearanced. That was a tedious process.

Great update. I love the ram and the engine cage is saucy!

CarterFab 08-27-2012 08:45 PM

Finished machine work on the ram, painted housing, got my VP knuckles on, and bolted everything up with scale hardware. Just lack tie rods.
Enjoy!!
