The one downside of a no slop locker is that the set screw can come loose. I have a few sets of both highlands and felesnfest and they both come loose occasionally. More red loctite would probably fix it but then they may never come out. I am thinking of switching back to the bulletproof HR steel spools. Never had a problem with those.

I don't know if there is enough room to increase the screw size but I love my hr spools. Had em a little bit and slop is minimal.

Ok, thinking of pulling the trigger on the HR units. My issue is I need to know if there would be enough room for me to drill and tap to 4-40, since my ring gears are drilled and counter sunk for that hardware Thanks in advance for any info on this

Not much meat around the mounting holes, but you can make that determination.

If you drill them bigger update us how it goes. I too wish there was a bit more metal around the holes so that they could be drilled and tapped to 3mm.

Little update, rear is still holding. Front is completely junk. Took it out for a bit between courses at our comp and failure within 5 minutes. I also decided to put the beast in the river Looks like I have time to corosion x everything now Probably should have done that already......lol. Someone please build a strong locker. Maybe they will..........

I will see if I can get my hands on some of the Green Mopar thread locker we have at work. It is stronger than the red, maybe this will work.

Im still impressed how far you skied on one flip-flop across the mud to save your rig out of the river yesturday....that was awesome! Truck in the river......not awesome..

Green is usually sleeve retainer...if it's Permatex Loctite brand.

Yes, I was impressed myself Got the pig stripped down and not to much water in anything. I think letting it hang out in the 500 degree car helped. Foams were barely wet. All was dry this morning. Once the corosion x comes in she will get the treatment. Now I need to go find a front locker, nothing can fix it now.

Maybe thats what im thinking of, seems like I had some Mopar stuff (that I can't find now) and it was a grade above red thread lock. I could be wrong.

Good deal Farmer, im sure the hot subi helped. I would still drop it in some rice till your corrosion x shows up, like I said the tail lights were starting to blink when you pulled the battery.
