Default Treys1's Jeep Wraith

After many years of R/C I only recently discovered scalers / crawlers. My Dingo kit was a blast, but as soon as I ran a Wraith I acquired from Harley the SCX10 was done. That Wraith moved on to a buddy since it was already well set up and I found a used one for my base. It had STRC chubs, knuckles and steering links already on it.

Since I received it I have put in:

Vanquish SLW V1's
ProLine TSL SX's
STRC rear lockouts
STRC shock bodies and caps
HH BRXL Waterproof
HH Torquemaster Expert 27t
Futaba S9157 Servo
Scratch built light kit
Dinky drop bed
BGR Fab Sliders (Bumper on its way)

Pre Jeep Makeover

I am currently in progress of fitting the ProLine Rubicon body and working on light buckets.

Here are a few pics:

Shock Bodies and Caps:

I'll consider this my build thread and update as I go.

Got it holding it's own weight up tonight. Hope to have some wheeling pics this weekend!

Looking good Trey! My Wraith replaced every other scaler in my house as well. I figured you'd have to get a silver Jeep body for yours

Looks good, one suggestion I have is moving the tail lights to the tail light spots on the proline body. Those rear lights are perft for fitting in lexan and would look sweet!

Yeah I definitely need to take care of that. For whatever reason when I was fitting everything I completely missed it....

Wheeling! Cell phone cameras don't do that great at dusk so I will have to get the real camera out soon.

I have done a few things lately.

Mounted up some Mayhem Monsters.
Added R2J Stainless Uppers.
Added Beef Tubes front and rear.
Cut and shaved off the rear arms on the STRC steering blocks.

Yeah I'm liking the wheels, I just wish they made one size smaller hubs. I have the narrowest they offered and it still widened it up a bit.

So how and where did you get the buckets from? I see that you just guled them to the body but where did you get buckets like that from?

Thanks

The headlight buckets are actually the large buckets usually on the bumper of the wraith. I took the grill off and mounted them in the body. I then used what is normally the headlights as the offroad lights.

I actually also installed a HeyOK 3Pos Dual Circuit light switch. Theses lights are all on one toggle and I am going to setup some rock lights on the other circuit soon.

I put these over in the GA section, figured I would toss them here too.

Buddy and I went both mornings this past weekend to a local park. We are both on 3S with 27t motors and Saturday morning between the two of us we spun off 4 drive shafts (ran through all the spares)! We stopped by Lowes, bought some M6 x 65 bolts, cut em down and sleeved the driveshafts we had left.....no problems to speak of on Sunday morning when we went back.

Got around to doing a cage mod. I can't decide if I should leave to down pipes raw aluminum or paint them black to match the rest of the cage... Unfortunately my body and drop bed were already trimmed for the full cage so now I have to replace them or figure out how to cover up all the extra cut outs.

I also finally got around to putting the tail light buckets in the body instead of the stock location. The Shoe Goo is drying over night and I will finish that up tomorrow, I think it is going to turn out well.
