So far they look great sitting on the bench.

No, I understood. If your aren't happy with something on the bench odds are you will have the same feelings towards it on the rocks.

That also applies to my handle of Crown.

Voodoo U4 first impressions...

Thanks again for the wicked tires Matt. Unmodified silvers absolutely hook up. I finally put them through a 4 mile trail run yesterday. Lots of dry powder, steep rocky climbs but not much crawling on bare rock (aka tire shredding). There are no signs of wear at all. I may just leave these un-siped for the sake of tread life. Even with a soft foam the internal tire support keeps the carcass from rolling over in turns. My favorite thing is the dead aspect of this compound. Very little bouncing at all. Awesome.

Thanks again Matt. After Nats I'll really put a whoopin' on them.

I love the fact that they don't bounce, it adds another layer to the suspension at high wheel speeds...very unique drive feel"thumbsup"

They really don't bounce at all. It's absolutely amazing. It's like bolting on a tuned suspension. Hands down superior to my TSL's or Baja Claws.

It must be the VOODOO that you do. To get the VOODOO's not to bounce! LOL!

Surprisingly little Voodoo required. Install the sloppiest foams you have, test, go the next sloppiest, repeat. Walk your foam densities up until you hit the sweet spot. You'll be shocked at how little foam they require with all of the ribbing. As the side walls break in you'll need to change your foams accordingly to maintain proper feel.

Tis the PM season

After yesterdays trail run the time has come for HD uni and steering rebuild with all new bushings. Shock are shot too and the servo needs to go. Dirty pics soon. Time to get my lathe on and prep for crawling season.

Voodoo U4s' worked well in all of that ultra fine, dry powder. Plenty of hook on the rocks. Sweet tire Matt!"thumbsup"

Time for a front diff guard

Well the front HD universal bushings definitely needed to go.

http://i1229.photobucket.com/albums/.../IMG_18871.jpg

The knuckle bushings were just as bad (no pic). I pulled all of the bearings and found this as I opened up the diff.

http://i1229.photobucket.com/albums/.../IMG_18891.jpg

It seems I've worn through the leading edge of the bottom of the diff. Bushings and such are easy. Making a functionally attractive billet 7075 front diff skid will be a challenge. I hope I can pull it off given all of the interior and exterior angles I'll have to work with. Work holding will suck. I'll spec it to a new axle/diff cover so I can transfer it to a new axle when I want. Material ordered. Weekend project on tap.

Rob_b this is where CNC clearly kicks etch a sketch's butt.

I've been debating that. I really want to use those on a 4 link front setup I don't want to permanently attach the panhard or grind off the top side of the diff bell to fit my panhard link. I'm sure my diff guard will go through several versions too. You are the devil on my shoulder man."thumbsup"

Fallen to the Dark Side

You are evil and I will follow thy word.

7075 axles going on...with a custom front diff skid plate. Man they are gonna look good.

Knuckle bushings done.

HD Uni bushings this weekend.
