| brandon288012 first wraith build ! i cant wait
Well after lots of reading threads and watching videos i deciced on an axial wraith kit version to add to my RC collection . Though i no its been done before i thought it would be fun to do my own build thread ,and tell about my experience puting this really wicked truck together . So here we go here is a pic of some of the parts that ive got in so far . They actually beat the kit here ! I will have more prob later on today when ups runs , and i get the kit and get started . So doe anybody else catch there self looking out the window when you know its getn close to time for the big brown truck to make the turn into the drive ? That what my eyes look like looking and waiting !!! lol

Just did my first build of a wraith just after Christmas. Was fun to do with my kid, already thinking about getting another wraith. As has been said before the directions aren't the best. Few part numbers wrong on some little pieces. I agree, checking out the window when your here a brown truck go by.

The exo kit i done first was the same way with the instructions being wrong in a few places ,but over all i had a ball building it myself . Thats part of the reason i decided to go with the wraith as my next rc was because i could get in a kit, and im starting to get into this scale stuff alot i really like all the different things that can be done to make it different than evarybody else. you just cant get that stuff with alot of RC products ! Heck not many companys even offer kit versions of much of anything .

do a parts check first thing and make sure its all there , a number a kits have been short a few parts. mine was short the interior wich i didnt notice till later since i never planned on useing it. i started digging for it so i could hack it up and build bec and bec battery mount and it just wasnt there . good luck and man pay special attention to the shock building. the shocks for me were the hardest part of the build. |

I did and it appears that its all here ,and thans for the tip on the shocks . I no i had problems on my exo kit with the shocks wanting to work smooth . I ended up takin some light sand paper ,and givin the pistions a good once over to get them right . I sure these will be no different .

Well i didnt get far last night . There was just to much gong on .but i did manage to get my front and rear end done for the most part . had to run stock diff covers for now . My VP covers havent came in yet . right off the bat i did change something though . since i wont be doing much crawling i decided to run the front diff with spider gears instead locking it . Just have to see how i like it . And now on the shock building . I will have somemore pics later on today as i make progress

I got a few places eyed out behind my house that i cant wait to try it out on ,and a couple places where we all go ,and play with are other rc stuff . Problem i have is that nobody i run with is into scale stuff ! Thats why i bought this kit ive always thought the crawlers and trail stuff was cool ,but most of my friends argue with me !! hopeing my wraith when im done with it will show them there something else out there besides lets see who can go the fastest today

I'm using 3wt and the 3hole pistons work well. Crawls pretty good and handles speeds supringly well

Well ive got some done today . Didnt get many pics done though my gf took the camera to a wedding . Who would want pics of that stuff when you can take rc pics ??? Anyway i got my frmnt and rear diffs done ,and got my HS7954sh servo . I put one of these in my revo and they are very strong servos so i thought it be a good choice for this also Next is was on to build the trans and install the motor i went with a castle 1410 3800kx motor . I hope that the tranny can hold the power ! also i went with a traxxas 32 p spur that had 52 teeth ,and installed a slash slipper pads After that it was on to start my cage . It seems to be going together pretty smooth . I did notice that you really have to watch the length of the screws . They keep changing between two different sizes ! |

well ive kinda hit a stand still until i grt my paint in ,and deside exactly how im goin to paint it . its either goin to be a flat black or a flat green . Not really sure about makin lexan flat ,but ive got a bunch of scrap pieces i been trying different stuff on to see what works best . maybe tomorrow i will have an update also for some reason it seems like something in my drivetrain is in a bind !!! guess i need to look into that also

yea i went as far as to build my cage ,and bolt it to the frame ,and ran it across my basement couple times . I could tell its goin to be fast . I just hope its not more than the drivetrain can handle .
