| rigor's wraith with question
hello all! great forum! this is my wraith kit uber servo cats ass , my issue is the axels are not centered on the rig their both to one side about a 1/4'' in is this the way it is made? or did i mess something up i cross measured to the link ends and their the same so what gives ugg checked to make sure i used all the same size link ends, im lost! im down to measuring the metal links to see if they miss cut them but what are the odds i got them on the same side vid of the confusion any help would be sweet thanks Last edited by rigor; 01-18-2013 at 10:08 PM. |

i just measured the wheel base one side is 14'' and the other is 14 1/4'' one of the links must be funky! going to the barn for the calipers all i found is a little diff in the plastic ends on the lower links but it must be enough to trow it out of wack! probably not worth messing with till i get better upper links hmm... Start by getting rid of that steering ;) I'm not going to measure mine. In your bid I could kinda tell and then it also looked normal Whatever it is jz weird. |

| Re: rigor's wraith with question prob the culprit there's a few different lengths of plastic ends in the kit.

Nothing wrong with the steering, I have the same setup. I did find that I had to use some 3mm washers as shims between the links and the rod ends to make things the proper length.

dang from the view its noticable. i just set mine down on the floor and it looked offset but i rolled it and the tires wear leaning beacuse its been sitting sideways on a pile of tools all night. your does look offset even on the aliminum inside the tire |

i know it is crazy, i tightened 2 links to try to get the wheel base the same and it made it worse, it must be the plastic upper links is all i can think being a mechanic/ fabricator by trade... this is no bueno may have to make my own i guess

here is the other issue is it leans bad after racing rcs for years, you notice shit like this and drives a guy crazy! especially when having to add preload to one side and not have it help it set level im going to switch the upper links front to back this should theoretically shift the axles the other way unless their the same, this will either tell me it is the lower links or if it is the upper causing the problem hopefully lol Last edited by rigor; 01-19-2013 at 11:21 AM. |

rear long side to very end of adapter to center of link hanger is 4.864 In, roughly short side to very end of adapter to center of link hanger is 5.078 In, roughly ,due to trying to transfer center to bottom of axle so it is roughly .214 off center almost a 1/4 in i bet fixing that will cure the torque twist! most people are having problems with i knew i wasn't crazy lol now how to fix it uggg Last edited by rigor; 01-19-2013 at 12:39 PM. |

i should of took the axle off the rig to measure it its only like an 1/8 off center but that is still alot when the links are the same length

so it is actually long side to top of center mount to end of adapter is 4.927 short side is 5.097 a diff of center .170 that don't seem like much but by the time you hook same length center links it translates to over a 1/4 in off center on the chassis putting your rig weight way off center, oh well have to figure out how to fix this i guess, uneven length arms might work, seems like a bad idea... a centered mount would be best..... |

well it worked good! sets level now! and the axles are perty much centered under the rig, in one pic you see the line on the servo and the line on the chassis i made those before i moved the axle... anyway got it figured out, its a pain in the ass trying to measure off this thing, it will give you a headache lol can't wait to try it out! before after before after how far i moved them the rear thanks for the tips |

took it out for a shake down and i couldn't get a 100 feet before severe glitching on the speed control, servo still worked great! so i spent about 2 hours relocating, and extending wires... i left the bec, esc, led controller in the same area, and moved the reciever behind the consul is this to close to the motor ? all this work to gain about 30 more feet when i had this rx in my slash it worked good 4-500 ft before issues... the radio is the m8, is their something i should move? i know nothing of the bec or the light control, and how it could affect things... the esc / motor is the wraith edition tinbuck2 also i am only running on 5.1 v currently i inadvertently bought the "castle link quick connect'' seen castle link and ordered it lol so the volts are a little low could this cause this? tidying job rx location motor sensor wire is ran with the power leads to the motor is that ok? ran the bec esc servo wires on the other side away from the motor hope that's right any thoughts would be great thanks |

it looks to me like youve done everything right, my rule is to keep anything with a signal as far away as possible from anything carrying lots of amperage. The problem may lie in the novak system, I was running the goat 3s with an 18.5 turn in my wraith and it would spontaneously and violently stutter and glitch on the trail. Another trailing buddy of mine runs novak stuff in his scx10 and his does the same thing. I switched to a Tekin bl system and not had a single issue since.

thanks for the comment! im uploading a video of what it is doing, every thing is bran new, except the battery and radio. but both work awesome on other rigs, it rilly sucks that i just bought this novac product, just to pitch it in the garbage... it is weird how it glitches going away but not cumming to you wife is not happy with the idea of me buying more of the same, at least in her eyes it will do that glitching crap in reverse, in my front room go figure, at just a couple feet, but not all the time id say 70% of the time it will glitch Last edited by rigor; 01-20-2013 at 06:32 PM. |
