Default My kit build

My friend Adam (AZWheelman)wanted to see the changes I made to my Wraith, so I'm posting it up.

This was a Kit build.
HiTec 7954SG servo
Sidewinder SV2 ESC
Tekin 45 turn handwound
Hyperion 2500 mah 3S battery

This first pic I wanted to show the ride height after I flipped the rear brace, and moved the front shocks back one hole. I put the Chisels and Proline wheels off my Wheely King.

Here I'm showing my steering setup. Stold the idea from ****'s Suicide switch setup. Just found some turnbuckles in my pile of crap.

...and then some poser shots

The suicide steering set up is all screwy. Unless you made changes and made both steering links the same length it will never really work right. Other than that the rig looks pretty sweet.

Can you elaborate on, "all screwy"? I'm curious if I'm missing something because it seems to be working fine for me. It did initially have more travel in one direction than the other, but I dialed that out with the endpoint adjustments on my Tx.

With 2 steering arms of different lengths like the Suicide steering has, you'll get 1 tire to turn more than the other. There is nothing that EPA can do to fix that. Plus the way it's set up with no tie rod puts 2x the stress on the servo and servo horn.

Alright, I can see now the outside tire does turn more than the inside. That's no bueno, but it is a significant improvement over the plastic links in actual performance, so I guess I'm stuck with it until I can scrape up some money for a proper link.

Yeah you can get a really nice Ti set up for about $30, but it'll do in the mean time. Just make sure the tire that turns further isn't causing the axle shaft to bind. Cause if it does you'll break something

I wasn't worried about the servo handling it, 404 oz-in on 7.4v, and I cranked the voltage up on the Castle BEC, but I am bothered by the inside wheel losing the steering radius. Regardless, it was working really good on my pile of rocks in my backyard. Not sure what I'm gonna do now...
