| I just ordered this motor just wondering if this is a good combo.
So here is the deal i have a traxxas velineon system right now and and am not happy with the low end that it has so i am going to use the velineon esc because it is water proof and the Tekin C2251 Redline Sensored Brushless 17.5T Motor on it. Dose that sound like a good mix or am i going to be farther disappointed? Last edited by motoxkfx; 03-07-2013 at 01:29 PM. |

Depends on what you use the rig for. If you use it for crawling, you will hate that esc since it has no drag break. And for a crawler/basher that is a decent motor. I had the 13.5t, then stepped up to a Pro4. So the motor will more than likely do good for you, but the speed control is a different story if you like to crawl. It'd be fine for a basher though since you don't need drag break for trails, hill climbs or hauling ass.

Well I use it for a little bit of every thing I just want it to have better crawling capability than the 3500 kv gives me. I am holding this motor will give me better and more control on low in.

It will since its sensored. But if you do a good amount of crawling a drag brake is a must. The each you have will get you by until you get a new over one with a drag brake, such as a MMP or Tekin RS.

I dont think you can plug a sensor wire into a vxl esc.

Velineon is not a sensored ESC. You are correct. Edit: I was effing wrong! Last edited by isyeskeert; 03-07-2013 at 07:01 PM. Reason: I was effing wrong! |

The Velineon® VXL-3s forward/reverse electronic speed control simplifies brushless technology with easy, built-in profiles and intuitive programming. Tri-mode operation auto detects the motor type for brushed, sensored or sensorless brushless motors. The VXL-3s™ uses advanced circuit design that allows sensorless brushless motors to operate with the smoothness and precision of the best brushed systems. Holy crap, Batman! You learn something everyday! It was labelled Auxillary. I had been waiting for Traxxas to come out with a new feature to make this port functional! |

Your not alone guy's,most people don't realise it's a sensored ESC cause of the plug covering the sensor port. It has a plug to maintain the waterproof feature of the ESC.

I did not know it was sensored till I got it home even. Do you all think there will be much of a difference in the tekin and the velineon.

To the OP: The tekin will be slower and have more torque but the esc isnt a great choice because it doesnt have drag brake and the throttle resolution isnt as good. | |

I have a Tekin Redline 13.5T and Tekin RS with sensor wire connected. This combo is awesome for my Speed Wraith. It flies especially if you go up to 3S. I just waterproofed the sensor on the motor by dunking it in CorrosionX. I have an open front diff now and this thing is way better at being a basher now. Spins donuts 100% easier!! It is almost scary, hahaha. |
