Default Problem with vp steering links

I installed my new vp steering links and at full turn my wheel drags on the rod end so hard it locks up the wheel. I have axial bead locks. Any body else have this problem?

I am having the same problem. What I found was the axle shaft try to pop out. Not sure how to fix it yet

You need a wider hex!! I have similar wheels. I got some wider hexes from a vendor on here and then I dremeled out the back of the rims a little.

Mine still rubs a little but I am going to let friction do its job now....at least it doesn't bind up and act as a brake like it did with no mods.

I have the same set up as well.

This is the best fix beyond the wider hex.

stock xr10 wheel mod /vp hubs

Gives you a lot more options.

Actually it was J-FAB NOR-CAL that made mine. They are about 11.3mm wide total...stocks are like 8mm or 9mm. I forget. It sucks the manufacturers only give the 12mm size and not the over all width for wheel spacing.

Might want to PM him and ask if he still makes any. http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/membe...-cal-49399.htm

Here is a picture of the ones J-Fab made. They are great quality aluminum.

That's exactly what I need! Another question for you... What would make my motor get super hot when I crawl for like 15 minutes straight?

What kind of motor are you running? ESC? Not sure why it gets super hot.

My RTR Wraith Stock 20T Motor and Stock ESC would get so hot that you could smell the ESC emitting that wonderful hot electronics smell. Then I swapped out my Spur for an 87T and my Pinion with a 14T and all that stopped. This delivers a lot more torque to make it easier to turn those tires when more power is needed during crawling. This is what worked for me.

I'm running the exact same rims with all VP parts. You need to get some wider hexes. I ended up getting some Top Cad parts from Asia Tees.

What part number for the TopCad stuff? http://asiatees.com/display.php?Axia...raith&id=47395

The ones I got from J-Fab are slightly too narrow still but work once the rims are sanded with a dremel. If J-Fab would have made them about 1mm wider.....AHHHHHHH

It must be the gearing, I wonder about your pinion and spur? Maybe lack of air flow around motor? Not sure.
