I got my wraith running last weekend finally and got to run it on te rocks a little. question I have is on the Robinson racing 32p slipper. when running this thing i tightened it all the way down cause it was slipping with any little bind the wraith got in and wouldn't crawl for a dang. so got it right and now if it gets in a bind I'm getting a little smoking from under there. I'm assuming that its the slipper burning but may be motor not sure now that I really think about it. but I'm assuming that you all do run the slipper pad in the assy correct?

I don't think it's the robinson slipper. It shouldn't be smoking, i'd bet that's your motor from putting so much stress on it

OP, what motor are you running? I have run mine tight then back it out a 1/2-3/4 of a turn, I haven't noticed any slipping. That is with the Tekin ROC412 3100 on 3S.

Doubt it's the slipper. I run the 48p unit and have it cranked all the way down too. I run a pro4 with it and no problems. You want to close to a 5.0 gear ratio or higher with most brushed motors.

You can always do the finger thermometer test on the motor. If you can't hold your finger on the motor for a few seconds gear down. Seems like the damage maybe done already if it has gotten hot enough to smoke.

I'm running the 56t Gen3 with a 12t pinion, that spur has some weight to it, so with a sub-par motor it's going to need to work harder to get everything moving. I'd vote a fresh motor and a pinion swap, also get you one of those small infrared thermometers. That way you'll know what temp it's running.
