Default Robinson racing Gear Breakage

This happened yesterday on the wraith , It was cracked a few weeks back and broke doing a very small climb . Worth contacting RRP ? I literally laughed when it went , We'd drove 30 miles and within 5 mins , Boom ... I had dig
3300kv pro 4 power on 3s ...
I've already ordered another gear and intend to run supershafty 6mm outputs with wraith MIP's if that all works ... Any other recommendations ?

It's a known problem. They are considerably weaker than the stock outputs. I would call rrp and ask for an exchange for a regular steel bottom gear without the outputs.

With being in the UK it makes it awkward .... I've already ordered one

Cheers for the input anyway !
Jack.

You have the right plan now. Supershafty 6mm chromemoly outputs with MIP driveshafts. If you get MIPS for the ax10 (without dig) you will have 4mm setscrews instead of the wraith specific MIPS that use 3mm. Then order Traxxas through pins and you will have a bombproof setup.
And you also need to order 6mm ends for the trans side of the MIPS. Everythings available at supershafty.

This is what I did and he had a new gear to my door in less than a week. All I had to do was mail him the broken 1. They have a slightly different design now and are supposed to be stronger. I still went with just his gear and SS 6mm outputs though.

How does being in the UK change anything? I understand you have already ordered another one but wouldn't you rather have two good gears than a good one and a broken one?

I think he means as in its a PITA trying to contact vendors who are in the US or abroad and then wait for shipping etc

But I'm sure they are on here right?

Hello jack btw seen your posts a lot on modelsport forum.

All it takes is an email or phone call to RRP and they'll take care of what is needed.

The one piece lockers are not worth the money at all. Get a good gear set and use the stock outputs and you're way better off. Then get some chromoly outputs someday when you have the money.

Cheers for the input , Have ordered the following and contacted rrp via email :
Mip 6mm adaptors
Supershafty 6mm wraith outputs
RRP Hardened steel gear
RRP slipper 56t
Supershafty beefy topshaft
That should do and be a good start for the IFS conversion me thinks
Jack.

Good choice. I still need the beefy top shaft and slipper set up. Also thinking I'll get the motor plate also.
